BUDAPEST — Starting in Autumn 2025, Wizz Air, the Hungarian low-cost carrier, will halt its nonstop services to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) from two key UK departure hubs: Glasgow International Airport (GLA) and Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL).
This move significantly reshapes the airline’s UK operations, particularly affecting frequent travellers who rely on these direct connections. Wizz Air attributed the route cancellations to ongoing performance reviews and reaffirmed its focus on high-demand routes to maintain low and competitive fares.

In order to maintain the lowest possible fares for its customers, Wizz Air conducts routine route performance evaluations and reallocates capacity to its most popular destinations, according to the airline’s spokesperson.
Although Wizz Air has not announced a specific end date for the last flights, it has already begun notifying affected passengers. Travellers booked on the impacted routes will receive options to rebook on alternative services or claim full refunds, as part of the airline’s customer care and compensation policy.
