Next Friday at 8:00 p.m. in St Peter's Basilica there will be a ceremony of closing the coffin of Pope Francis – informed the Press Office of the Holy See.
Celebration in accordance with the provisions Ordo Exsequiarum Romani Pontificis (No. 66–81) will be presided over by Cardinal Chamber of the Holy Roman Church, Kevin Joseph Farrell. Among those invited to participate in this ceremony were cardinals. Konrad Krajewski, The Pope's Handmaid.
On Tuesday, the coffin was exhibited in the chapel of the home of St.Marta, so that the Vatican workers and their families could pray with it. On Wednesday morning, the coffin was moved to St. Peter's Basilica in a ceremonial procession. It will stay open to those who will personally want to say goodbye to the late Pope Francis for the following days in the following hours: Wednesday, April 23 (from 11:00 to 24:00), Thursday, April 24 (from 7:00 to 24:00), Friday, April 25 (from 7:00 to 19:00).
The ceremony celebrations will be held in St. Peter's Square on Saturday 26 April at 10:00, after which the coffin with the body of Francis will be laid in the Basilica of Our woman the Greater.
