According to Romanian media, Calin Georgescu, who won the first circular of invalid presidential elections in Romania, was arrested. The candidate rapidly gained support on social media, among others, and the Romanian Constitutional Court ruled that this was the consequence of organized manipulation from outside the country. Post factum found that the charges against Georgesc were unjustified, and the annulment of the electoral process itself was an unprecedented interference of the Constitutional Court questioning the will of the majority of Romanians.
Calin Georgescu by the European mainstream is falsely referred to as an utmost right-wing politician, sympathetic to Vladimir Putin. As Romanian media write, Georgescu heard allegations of irregularities in the backing of the electoral campaign. After his arrest, he was transferred to the D.A. Police action on allegedly untransparent financing of his run was broad. Service searched the homes of his close associates.
Calin Georgescu is simply a favourite of the May-planned, repeated presidential elections. In this context, his arrest may be an effort to prevent him from participating in the elections.
