Oh. Dariusz Kowalczyk: Church “synodal, merciful, missionary”? News can't save us

For the Church there is no request to search for any fresh program – he wrote in his column on the portal opoka.org.pl o. prof. Dariusz Kowalczyk. As the Jesuit pointed out, contrary to the promises of “progressive” Catholics, no imagination of a change of course will solve all the problems encountered by the Mystical Body of Christ. erstwhile many seem to be doing an outstanding work of renewal of faith, reality can bring bitter disappointment.

The Polish clergy referred to a late read article that was enthusiastic about the “new era” of Catholicism: thanks to synodism. As the Jesuit pointed out, the optimistic text joyfully proclaimed that the time of the Church was coming “merciful and missionary”. This imagination fits into the logic of “synodical conversion” – according to which “now, after 2 1000 years” The church just discovered its essence, the priest noticed.

In the meantime, as Fr.Dariusz Kowalczyk emphasized – in fact neither the message about God's Mercy nor missionaryness constitute any news for Catholics. The latter, he added, "It is to the Church of various past ages we can only envy."

“In the substance of missionaryism, we request humility and beating ourselves in the chest for deficiency of zeal and dynamism, not for inflating ourselves that, here we are now renewing the Church by making it missionary. After all, from a missionary standpoint Christians present are like those dwarfs on the shoulders of giants. As a Jesuit, I am arrogant of my brothers in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, who zealously, creatively, frequently brilliantly, and with readiness for martyrdom, evangelized South and North America, far distant Asia, including India, Japan and China, and Africa,” says the Polish Jesuit article.

Supporters of the fresh “Church of Mercy” are besides mistaken to think that it is an aspect that has remained neglected. In Father's opinion, they alternatively want a fresh and abroad religion to see what mercy is.

"It seems that any modern reformers of the Church would be happy to remove certain works [merciful-red] about the soul, especially reproving sinners. And as for the works towards the body, they would add first of all: To support the gender/LGBT ideology, so that no 1 who is non-heteronormative would be sorry," commented the clergyman. As he added, he sincerely hopes that the slogan of synodic mercy does not mean to accept in the Church the rule of "do what she wants."

The reformers of the Church are deluded, reasoning that the Mystical Body of Christ can perfect any new—man-made program, flourished the Jesuit. Recalling the words of John Paul II, the prof. stressed that the most crucial paradigm was given to the Church by Christ at the time of His foundation.

‘(...) There is so no request to search for a “new program”. The program already exists: the same as always, contained in the Gospel and surviving Tradition. He is focused in fact on things around Christ himself”, he recalled the words of the Polish priest pope. At the same time, he encouraged readers to remember their importance.
