The "Catholic" (with a kind assumption) naivety of Holowna towards the revolutionary left will so have precisely the other effect than the electorate of the followers of the Holy Peace expects of him.
Social force is everything
As a society, we find ourselves in a situation tired of a long road driver who is slow beginning to dream. The sleep behind the wheel threatens us with a colaps, so we must keep our vigilance in all way, even though all the sounds that come to our senses are trying to trick us. However, we cannot be put to sleep by either the promise of calming social sentiments, or the assurance of common sacrifice and compromise, or the promises of universal benefits flowing to all couples regardless of sexual orientation—all these stories relieve social opposition at a crucial minute erstwhile it is decided whether the door of the homo-revolutionary will be lifted.
