New technologies and facilities are to service man. Is this how artificial intelligence will be used? Geoffrey Hinton, a pioneer of artificial intelligence, believes we're facing mass unemployment, failure of meaning... And he advises you to learn to compete in which AI will not rapidly replace a man.

According to Hinton AI, “he will surpass people in everything, and this carries the hazard of mass occupation losses and advanced unemployment”, we read on rp.pl. The expert points out first of all to people who do "normal intellectual work" and points out that only highly qualified people have the chance to compete with AI.

AI's popularity is expected to consequence in an always wider substitution of man in his work or increase productivity through AI tools – both of which mean less jobs. "This will lead to massive redundancies in many industries. However, there will be exceptions, specified as wellness care, which are able to absorb these changes, due to the fact that the request is almost infinite there," Hinton says.

As he claims, it is possible to identify industries that are little susceptible to the AI effect – specified as physical work, in which AI will not last long. Hinton claims that specified a profession could be, for example, a plumber, an electrician, a carpenter, due to the fact that they are hard to automate.

The expert besides points out that the improvement of AI will make only a tiny group of owners and management staff benefit from technology – while workers will be fired.

He thinks displacing people from the labour marketplace is simply a large threat, but not the biggest. due to the fact that even giving them basic income won't solve the problems, due to the fact that jobless people can "lost a sense of meaning."

Hinton besides points out that AI's creators disagree on assessing the effects of the improvement of artificial intelligence, due to the fact that they do not “understand how these technologies work and evolve.” However, the expert convinces that the theories about device rebellion are growing, and the “wise people” will find a way to build it so that she never wants to hurt us.
