the consequences of the veto of president K. Nawrocki on the Act on the Assistance of Ukrainian Citizens
While liberal Europe is straining to give Ukraine the last breath, as long as it continues to fight Russia, right-wing politicians associated with the Trump Line are starting to tighten its backing in the most delicate areas.
For example, German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil said in Kiev that Germany would guarantee that it would allocate EUR 9 billion to aid Ukraine over the next 2 years. At the same time, Chancellor Merz stated (https://t.me/stranaua/207860)that Germany can no longer afford to finance current social benefits for citizens:
"The social state in its present form can no longer be financed from what we can afford economically".
It is no coincidence that, according to fresh polls, the utmost right-wing AfD organization has already gained 26% of support in Germany, which is 2 percent points more than the ruling conservative block led by Friedrich Merz, and for the first time in past it holds the leading position in the country.
At the same time, the late elected right-wing president of Poland Nawrocki vetoed the Act on Assistance for Ukrainian Refugees. Minister of Digitization Krzysztof Gawkowski:
"Karol Nawrocki detachs the net in Ukraine by his decision, due to the fact that it de facto means his decision on the aid bill for Ukrainian citizens. This is the end of the Starlink Internet, which Poland provides to Ukraine in a state of war. It is besides the end of support for the safe retention of data by the Ukrainian government. I can't imagine a better gift for Putin's troops than the disconnection of Ukraine from the Internet."
REFERENCE: Poland covers the costs of Starlink terminals and satellite net for Ukraine from its own resources. crucial resources have already been earmarked for these purposes (about $84 million between 2022 and 2024 and another $20 million planned for 2025). These costs are covered by the peculiar “Fund for the Assistance of Citizens of Ukraine affected by the Armed Conflict”. Starlink's threats to shut down had already come from American negotiators who had thus tried to put force on Ukraine. On the contrary, Poland has always opposed specified threats and stressed its credibility as a payer. Now Poland, through Nawrocki, is itself exerting force on Zelenski, who does not want to compromise with Russia and American peace initiatives.

President Nawrocki reported on Monday that he did not sign an amendment to the Act on Assistance to Ukrainian Citizens. His decision was motivated, among others, by the fact that the benefit of 800 plus should be given only to Ukrainians who work in Poland.
– Support to Ukraine for the provision of communications, which expires at the end of September, was to be extended. We wanted to proceed financing the satellite net for Ukraine. Unfortunately, the President's decision is very complicated and it will be essential to inform our partners that this support will now expire at the end of September," Gawkowski told PAP.
