The Catholic Church should have bet on liberal democracy already 1,700 years ago and become independent of the imperial NGO government. Unfortunately, he lacked bright Jesuit advisors and became a feudal pyramid, which only present is being destroyed by the large Pope Francis. Fr. Henryk Pietras seems to say so, it would seem – a serious patrolman.
"Sacur!"; "Grubo!"; "Bravo!"; “Somebody yet said it!” So the net users reacted to a short movie starring prof. Henry Pietras, a Jesuit student and a prominent patrolman. What respectable, bravado and groundbreaking things did the student and priest say?
Well, he announced that... Emperor Constantine the Great, ending with the brutal persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire, began the slavery of the Church.
Prof. Henryk Pietras SJ is simply a figure well known in the Catholic Church in Poland. I myself utilized many of his works on the past of Christian theology. His books and articles are frequently completely unique in Polish space. However, it turns out that the breath of synodality has a amazing force of destruction.
The student attended the global technological Conference on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the convening of the Council of Nice. erstwhile I saw this short movie for the first time, I thought, I admit completely honestly: but individual left with a idiotic title! The thing was called: “Fr. Henryk Pietras SJ: The Milanese edition is simply a minute of enslavement of the Church.”
Having listened, I hit my chest; I return my honor to the author of the title, for he retained complete integrity.
What did Fr. Henryk Pietras SJ say?
– I consider 313 a year, or this alleged Milanian edict, not a gift of freedom for the Church, but a failure of independence," he stated.
– The church just stopped being independent. The Church entered the hands of the Empire. Immediately after 313, Emperor Constantine made a decree that forbids rich priests. No rich man can be a Presbyterian or bishop. Why? due to the fact that the emperor is willing to give money erstwhile individual is polite and does not care that priests have their own money. On the contrary, he's not comfortable with it. He wants priests to do what he says, and he'll give them money for it. That is how we gotta this day with governments, presidents and presidents who are willing to give money to those bishops and priests who are polite and support them. This is the bondage of the Church. It started in 313 – he continued.
He went on to talk about the alleged illiteracy of the clergy, which would consequence from the emperors' support for foolishness among the clergy, convincing that this trend continued for many centuries. – Many clergymen have participated and participated with large desire throughout the centuries. Why? For money," he said.
He besides argued that the improvement of Theodosius the Great, who ordered all in the Empire to confess the Christian religion, led to disastrous consequences, due to the fact that careers in administration or military began to be done by people receiving baptism not due to faith, but due to the desire to make a career. In this context, Fr Prof. Henryk Pietras spoke about the feudal structure of the Church and Francis' efforts to destruct this feudalism through synodity.
– The church was thoroughly pissed with society," he said. – All processes of increasing feudalism were connected with the Church. The church has become a feudal institution, with all feudal rights, with its obedience to the bishop as a feudal lord to this day. It's not a spiritual vow, it's a feudal vow. This is how the Church was formed as a feudal institution. The Holy Spirit has managed to bring the planet out of feudalism by now, but the Church has failed. The church inactive remained feudal and so it draws. Trying to get free of feudalism is trying to get free of this feudal pyramid. Francis calls it synodality. Those who like the feudal church, they mess with Francis as much as possible, that he destroys the foundation of the Church. He does not destruct the foundations of the Church. He storms the feudal structure of the Church," he stated.
So let's separate a few...
– the Milan edict was the beginning of slavery;
– Constantine supported foolishness due to the fact that he wanted to surrender to the Church;
– the Church became a feudal institution and dependent on the Empire;
– Pope Francis yet changes it after 1,700 years.
...and we briefly commented.
The Milanese Edition as the beginning of enslavement
The first thesis is so ridiculously ridiculous that it should be considered a propaganda anti-cleric performance of any comedian, if not for the fact that the prof. said it at a technological conference. Which tells us about church doctorates and professors, I'll leave on the side. As for the meritum: precisely 10 years before the Milan edict, another imperial edict, Diocletian, was issued, which began the brutal and bloody persecution of Christians for respective long years. I wonder, what would Fr.Fr. Henryk Pietras say about Christians who, just before dying in torment, looked at torture until the death of their own children? Or those Christians who looked at the apostasy of fellow humans, who feared the same fate, and thus abandoned faith? Freedom to confess religion in Jesus Christ without risking death as the beginning of enslavement – I will leave it without further comment.
The Imperial Support of the Silly Priests
In 1 of his books, Fr Prof. Henryk Pietras described the reaction of Emperor Constantine to the Arian heresy, extensively discussing the letter the ruler sent to the disputed parties. Constantine suggested that it would be better to abandon philosophical disputes by focusing on the outside cult. The Jesuit student himself explained at the time that Constantine was looking at religion through the prism of orthopraxia, due to the fact that that was Roman state religion. In his brief speech at the global conference, however, he no longer played with specified details and reading of imperial decisions in the historical context, announcing only that the emperor wanted to support the fools, due to the fact that they were easier to control. Sure, it's 1 of the possible explanations of decisions prohibiting the rich acceptance of priestly ordination. Problem is, not only... Thus, specified a “dairy”—the clergy were exempt by Constantine from many elements of public service, so if a rich man had accepted ordination, his wealth could not be utilized by the state for the purposes of the political community. This would be a perfect way for many to escape their duties. But who would play with specified thoughts; supporting stupidity is simply a simpler explanation – right?
Church as a feudal institution
It is absolutely actual to say that the Church has adopted the features of the feudal planet while functioning in the feudal world. possibly he should do something else. To issue, for example, a decree of a constitutionally synodical, democratic and egalitarian character, utilizing a device to carry it into our glorious times erstwhile the Holy Spirit has already overthrown, with large effort, feudalism and erstwhile the Jesuit scholars can freely avenge the mistakes of bishops of the past centuries and millennia. The problem is, however, that neither for Theodosius, for Pepin, nor for Charles V of Habsburg the Catholic Church had specified machinery, due to the fact that even the superb Tuscan engineer Leonardo da Vinci could not build it. The Catholic Church, therefore, took advantage of the political and organizational forms available to the then backward people, who had not yet known the benefits of liberal democracy. If Pope Damaza had a light Jesuit at his side in the Theodosian era, he would surely tell the emperor a hard “no” and turn the Catholic Church into a non-governmental organization, firmly refusing to accept any subsidies. Bad luck, he wanted specified an advisor.
Synod Salvation
The Holy Spirit, however, as we have heard, operates and, as part of the synod process, overthrows the feudal ecclesiastical pyramid, which will reconstruct the natural order in the planet and will lead the Church to a fresh form of being, consistent with the canons of modern democracy. The painful era of deficiency of analogy between the planet of politics and the planet of the Church will thus end.
Let us remember that specified analogy was evil in the days of Constantine, Theodosius and feudal masters, but present is good, for present is progress; but this is understood by itself.
In any case, those who mess with Francis, as you know, refuse to accept it. Sure; due to the fact that that's all it's all about; it's a "brug"; who I'm curious in doctrinal matters ("Amoris laetitia) or moral matters ("Fiducia supplicans"); criticism of the Pope is only anachronistic and feudalism conservative love!...
Instead of ending
Some polite camera operator who recorded the global technological Conference showed not only a Jesuit talker but besides his audience.
Some of the congregations laughed at the start erstwhile the priest branded feudal pathologies of the past and made snarling remarks about the moral and intellectual condition of the ancient clergy of the time of the empire. Others were kind of little amused, any even embarrassed.
My attention was especially drawn to the faces of the others. In this embarrassment of beating individual else's breasts, I'd say there's hope.
