At the area of the Białystok Military Cemetery, the Office of Search and recognition of the IPN discovered in October 20 grave pits, of which 9 remains have been exhumed so far. The burial method and the found artifacts clearly indicate that these are victims of Ubek crimes. Among them may be the commanders of the underworld of independency in Białystok, whose remains of the IPN have been searching for many years.

Postwar, top secret burials in the military cemetery in Białystok were heard at least from 1945. I heard this dramatic communicative about the Nighttime Unbreakable funerals, in 2014 I heard from an AK soldier, to whom nobody wanted to believe – present it turns out that it is wrong.

Someone, present I can't remember who, curious me in the character of Antoni Iwasszczuk, Corporal of the AK, “Zaj” from the division of Captain Władysław Łukasiuk, “The Hammer” and his communicative about mysterious burials of the steadfasts in the military cemetery in Białystok. I went to him as a journalist. He lived in a block with his boy and his family. We sat down and he started talking. It was hard for him due to the fact that he was already old and severely sick – 15 years spent in various, but always terribly heavy, communist prisons did their job.

“From 1941 to 1948, I was a soldier of the armed underground of independence. First in the OGM then AK and WiN in troops operating close Białystok, in the area located on Narvia. I've been in Kedywa for a long time. I was mostly there collecting information. For my underground activity in 1948, I was arrested by UB. The Communist court sentenced me to the punishment of a dense prison" – Antoni Iwaszczuk introduced me.

He did this introduction not only to be credible with me, but it was besides an introduction to his appropriate communicative which had its origin in prison. Right in UB prison on the street, which present bears the name Santa Copernicus. It was the first place of the settlement of the Zajęka.

Mr. Antoni continued his relationship. He sat with him, in 1 cell, a KBW soldier named Richard, who “was not from here” – he was from Łódź. He did not, of course, sit for what he was doing on business, due to the fact that as we know, the interior safety Corps was a formation of the Polish People's Army, which supported UB officers in their vile activities. Richard was officially convicted due to the fact that he fell for state money, doing any bigger financial scam. But possibly there was 1 more crucial reason for his imprisonment by UB – possibly he knew besides much.

While in 1 cell Richard and Antoni spent all day, sometimes at night, they talked – due to the fact that what else could be done. Richard of the CWB, seemingly felt remorse for oppressing the soldiers of Independent Poland, due to the fact that 1 day he told Antoni specified a story, the fact of which was confirmed by current findings of the IPN.

Ryszard served on the KBW team, consisting of the most trusted soldiers, coming from outside the then Białystok Voivodeship. In 1946–7, around the clock this squad guarded the military cemetery in Białystok. The KBW soldiers were informed that they had to defender the cemetery well, as safety officers mainly from the UB and the CBW were buried there, who were killed during the battles with the “enemies of the people” or soldiers of the armed underground. It was feared that the preservation graves of folk power could be desecrated by the steadfast. It must be explained that the military cemetery in Białystok was founded before planet War II for Polish soldiers who died in the war with the Bolsheviks in 1920. So it was a red ridicule to bury the UBs here.

As a consequence of Richard's relation with the CWB given to the “Zając”, there was another reason why the military cemetery in Białystok, in the years after the war, was urgently guarded, and about which soldiers of the Corps, the commanders did not inform. Richard and respective of his teammates learned about this only due to their unparalleled youthful curiosity. Guarding the cemetery, they noticed that not erstwhile a night before the burial of the fixture of the folk power, a car arrives from the prison UB from which the officers take out any human bodies, throw them into a very deep pit, prepared for a "hero who died in the fight against the anti-communist reaction" and pour them down the ground so that these bodies are covered. On the another hand, the appropriate military ceremony of the "communist hero", buried in the same pit, but with honors and in a coffin, takes place only during the day at 10 a.m.

According to Richard, given to Antoni Iwaszczuk, these unusual “maneuvers” aroused the curiosity of the KBW soldier and respective of his colleagues. After 1 of those late-night activities of a covert burial of respective bodies without a coffin, trying to find out who was buried in this unusual way, the guys at the CBW shovel dug up the land that covered the corpse. erstwhile they sacrificed a large grave pit with a flashlight, they saw that the bodies of men lay at the bottom. 1 of them was dressed after a civilian another in Polish pre-war uniforms. They figured out whose bodies they were, and they got frightened of that knowledge, due to the fact that their discovery could have cost them their lives.

That's why neither your teammates nor your household nor anyone else they saw said anything. Ryszard besides did not tell anyone about it – until the gathering of Antoni from the AK in a prison cell, the Ubek prison on Copernicus, in which communist safety murdered many people. possibly he thought UB found out about his secret and he wouldn't come out alive. But as Richard's destiny continued, Mr. Antoni did not know.
