* * Oh, * *

The essence of courtship

The following questions may be an introduction to consideration of the nature, circumstances and consequences of the complaint:

  • Why is it crucial for so many who will be Poland and whose Poland will be?

  • Why are many not arrogant of Poland, but are ashamed of it and hatred it?

  • Why so many Poles do not care about sovereign, safe and economically strong Poland, and dismantling Polish safety and Polish interests is not crucial to them?

  • Why are so many liable for the function of a weak, dependent, formally dependent EU country, and practically German supremacy and its interests, and yet for the function of a category II state?

  • Why do so many Poles vote against national interest?

Such questions are justified by the results of the investigation conducted in the “Political Poznań Laboratory” of the Institute of Psychology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (May 2023) on Polish-Polish relations: “Do we identify with Poland?”. The investigation was carried out on a typical example of 1504 Poles and Poles aged 18-96 and later deepened by 40 interviews with representatives of distinguished 5 segments of attitudes. ‘These are: Fulfilled Democrats (20%) – for them »Being Polish is OK«. They most frequently vote for the civilian Coalition, but identify with Polishness. Open Traditionalists (23%) mostly vote for the united right. For them. »being a Pole is simply a distinction«, but they keep tolerance to another communities. Conservatives involved (15%) – for them »Being a Pole is an honor and a mission«. Embarrassed Poland is simply a 14 percent group of citizens of our country. The last segment, especially the numerous, is Retired Pessimists (28%). For them. »being a Pole doesn't mean much.«. The study shows that they are occupied with individual life alternatively than community life."1

The IP study of the Polish Academy of Sciences defines Embarrassed Poland: “People with low recognition with the Polish people. They have a low sense of ties with another Poles, Polish people realize very shallowly. This part of Poles sees another nations better than their own. For them, being a Pole is simply a shame. They frequently recognise that they have no representatives among politicians." The authors of the survey estimation that their attitude can besides be influenced by “generally low self-esteem, discontent with life, feeling alone, not identifying with Poland at a deeper level, going beyond politics. Embarrassed Poland are people we frequently call »pycophobes« (do not encourage your own people) or »left«. They value the European Union more than Polish people, even more than Europeans. Embarrassed Poland does not see the point in cultivating conventional patriotic values. National Patriotism is associated with negative, xenophobia, racism, mania of greatness," says the analysis. ‘(...) In addition, »These are people with low self-esteem, both healthy and narcissistic«.2 If we add “Retired Pessimists” to this group (28%), for which being a Pole means small in total, then we are already dealing with a large, 42 percent collective for which sovereign and strong Poland is not important.

Order it is called denial of something, individual – their homeland, sovereignty, family, religion, culture, customs, etc. – for the benefit of others. It's besides committing treason, mistrust (agree, collaboration) to national interests, denial, selling out, unfaithfulness, relinquishing erstwhile beliefs.3 Propriety is synonymous with betrayal on the 1 hand, and with a broader concept on the other. In the common sense, betrayal is associated more with a extremist form of insolence, is more powerfully marked by negative connotation, and refers more to political, anti-national and anti-state activities, not so much to the religious, household and moral sphere, where the word unfaithfulness, mistrust, seclusion is more common.

As far as the country is concerned, it is close to the concept of "fatherphobia" (Gr. oîkoshome + phóbos – fear = in front of home, family). The word was introduced by a British philosopher, author and essayist – prof. Roger Scruton (2004). In his work, he identified the phenomenon of a crisis of social identity characterizing the decadent phase of the improvement of civilization, attributed to the leftist and liberal environments, meaning the rejection (from reserve to hatred) of native culture and apology of another value systems. In Scruton's description, fatherphobia is the other of “fatherophilia”, understood as love

Home to what's ours. The causes of this phenomenon are seen in youth rebellion, activities associated with leftist views specified as rejection of tradition, and in social engineering activities. The self-determination of these groups as defenders against xenophobia – understood as an aversion to strangers – is characteristic, without precise definition of the meaning and aspects of the charges, as well as correct political spreading of slogans against sexism, racism, homophobia and anti-Semitism. Their stated nonsubjective is to make an inclusive, open, multicultural society. In Scruton's opinion, any of Europe's alleged intellectual and political elites fall into paternity. The attitude of renunciation of heritage and home, expressed by the slogan: “I am my homeland, where I am well”, is attributed to global institutions (European Union) and widely understood cosmopolitan, pragmatic and postmodern intellectuals. The utmost form of father-phobia is defined as hatred of family, homeland, national culture and civilizational community; alienation combined with homelessness, fear and frustration. The reason he looks at the secularization of society. As a remedium, Scruton indicates a return to realistic metaphysics, anthropology and, consequently, classical Christian civilization.4
