The head of the MFA, Radosław Sikorski, stated that the European Union cannot be without the primacy of European law over the national law of the associate States. These words fell in the context of a polemic with erstwhile Prime Minister Beata Szydło.
During the "Morning Talk" broadcast at RMF FM, erstwhile Prime Minister Beata Szydło stated that the European Commission's decision to unlock funds from the National Reconstruction Plan for Poland was motivated primarily by political reasons.
According to the communication from the European Commission, the Polish government "recognised the precedence of EU law", which was intended to influence the closure of the infringement procedure against Poland.
"Nothing has changed in Poland but the government, of course, and you [President of the European Commission Ursula – ed.] von der Leyen has now announced that these funds from KPO to Poland will be mobilised, but we must besides ask, at what cost, due to the fact that if the Polish government has agreed to the primacy of EU law over Poland, then the cost is very advanced and we will all pay for it" – current Euro MP PiS, Beata Szydło.
Beata Szydło besides expressed support for Zbigniew Ziobro's position, which had previously stated that any decision leading to designation of the primacy of EU law over national law would be detrimental to Poland.
Radosław Sikorski, Minister of abroad Affairs, quoted this message on platform X, accusing PiS organization politicians of supporting Poland's exit from the EU by highlighting the superiority of national law over the EU.
"Without the primacy of European law over national associate States, the European Union is impossible. These ignorant people do not really know that they are behind Polexit?” said Minister Sikorski.
In response, Beata Szydło felt that the Minister for abroad Affairs should read the European Treaties.
"Let him indicate where the rule of primacy of European law is in them. Nowhere. And someway for many decades the European Union has functioned smoothly" she wrote. She besides added that Brussels gradually seized more power, while EU associate States agreed to limit their competences, but only on circumstantial issues. She stressed that "in fresh years, however, the process of the European Commission taking over further competences has been accelerated, culminating in a change in the European Treaties and bringing the associate States to the function of the Lands". She stated that "this has nothing to do with the European spirit" and that her political camp opposes it.
"We defend the European Union against harmful political ideas of Sikorski and Tusk colleagues. And Sikorski intentionally manipulates or becomes hysterical," she added.
Radosław Sikorski, alternatively of calling individual ignorance, should read the European Treaties. Let him indicate where is the rule of primacy of European law?
Nowhere. And someway for many decades the European Union has functioned smoothly.
But that wasn't enough... pic.twitter.com/BcVGtEEQv1

“And so PolEXIT” – commented Confederate associate Grzegorz Braun.
The abolition of the anticipation for individual associate States to veto subsequent decisions of the European Union bodies is simply a step towards the federalisation of the EU and limiting their autonomy.
Some associate States, including Germany and France, publically support greater EU federalisation as a prerequisite for the adoption of further countries. In 2022, the position of candidate for membership was officially granted to Ukraine and Moldova.
In December, EU ministers submitted proposals to the European Parliament to amend the Treaties to the European Council. The 110-page paper contains 267 proposals for amending the 2 treaties, concerning the EU and the functioning of the EU. Among another things, the rule of unanimity in the EU Council votes in 65 areas and the transfer of additional competences to EU bodies is envisaged.
At the end of April this year, Deputy talker of the Sejm, Krzysztof Bosak (for the Confederacy), criticized the head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, accusing him of besides flattering a mention to Germany and besides mild a stance on politics towards Ukraine. He besides criticized the Minister's omission of Polish interests outside the country.
