The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) issued an urgent announcement on the safety of products that could have reached thousands of Polish homes. It is simply a popular tableware where a hazardous substance has been detected. Products are immediately withdrawn from sales and GIS calls on consumers to halt utilizing them. This is another informing for household products late – late faulty electrical kettles have besides disappeared from the market. The situation shows how crucial vigilance is erstwhile buying regular and checking authoritative alerts.
The problem concerns plates and bowls distributed by the popular chain of Woolworth Polska stores. According to the wellness Department, these products have found a migration of toxic dense metallic in excess of acceptable standards. Any usage of these dishes, especially in contact with acidic foods (e.g. juices, winegrette salads), increases the hazard of lead being penetrated into food.
Which products have been withdrawn? Check batch numbers
To make it easier for consumers to identify dangerous products, GIS has published a detailed list of withdrawn vessels with their batch numbers. It is crucial to check that the plates or bowls held at home do not come from the contested series. Products distributed by Woolworth Polska Sp. z o.o.originating in China.

The importer, Woolworth GmbH Germany, in cooperation with the Polish distributor, has already taken steps to retreat the products from the market. The sale of designated parties has been suspended. In addition, to make it as easy as possible to identify the vessels, GIS besides published pictures of them on its website. It is worth reading them to be 100% sure.
What if you have these dishes at home? Instructions
If, after verification of the batch numbers, you have at home any of the withdrawn vessels, take immediate steps. The most crucial thing is ruthless cessation of use. Do not service any food or food on them to avoid the hazard of lead poisoning.

The problem of dangerous vessels is not the only consumer alert recently. Recently, Carrefour's chain of stores reported a withdrawal from sales ‘No brand’ electrical kettleswhich besides posed a serious hazard to users. In this case, the problem was not a chemical, but structural defects threatening to electrocute.
The device did not meet the requirements of Regulation of the Minister of improvement of 2 June 2016 on requirements for electrical equipment. The check showed a number of irregularities. After the kettle plug was poured, there was a constant flow of electricity exceeding the limit values. In addition, connector contacts did not withstand stress tests, which meant that they could be damaged during average use. Moreover, the kettle was not equipped with the key safety element, which is thermal switch, protecting against overheating and fire.
For kettles, the return procedure was simple. Carrefour appealed to customers who purchased a defective product, about its non-use and fast return to any online store. Customers received a full refund of acquisition costs without having to show a receipt. Both cases show how crucial it is to follow GIS and UOKiK messages to defend the wellness and life of their own and their loved ones.
