"Polish school – deconstruction and foundations of reconstruction". crucial educational conference in the Sejm

On the Day of National Education, more than 150 teachers, directors of educational institutions, parents, trade union activists and non-governmental organisations took part in a full-day educational conference held in the column hall of the Polish Parliament, “Polish school – deconstruction and reconstruction foundations”, which was sponsored by Deputy Marshal of the Polish Parliament Krzysztof Bosak, and organized the Association “Teachers for Freedom” in cooperation with the Coalition for the Polish School's Salvation.

Letter to participants Prof. Adam Waśko, advisor to the president of the Republic of Poland, The president of the Council on Family, Education and Education at the president of the Republic of Poland, in which he stressed that “a critical assessment of mistakes made in education over the past 25 years is necessary”. Jolanta Dobrzyńska, educational expert, associate of the said Council and Bartosz Kopczyński, publicist and social strategy analyst from the Society of Social Knowledge they discussed a broad context of the observed changes in education. Dobrzyńska, diagnosing the condition of the Polish school, assessed it as a school of post-truth, post-standard, post-knowledge. Kopczyński stated that "School should be no longer for people, but vice versa – people for school" and quoted EU papers added: "Man will know only what the strategy will set him, and not a word more, and only for this intent to be useful for the system. Basic skills at basic level". He besides appealed to the opposition: “To find out what was going on, and to take all measures to halt it—legal, media, social. It is crucial to put force on the current opposition to talk on this matter, and erstwhile you return to power, to immediately undo what has already been introduced."

Hanna Dobrowolska, educational expert from the School Protection Movement led a panel where teachers and mothers participated Association “Teachers for Freedom”: Sylwia Kloc, Grażyna Lubszczyk, Katarzyna Marek. They pointed out the threat of digitization, the inability to work effectively in large classes with a large number of foreigners not speaking Polish, with respective children with rulings, frequently without the aid of a supporting teacher. Last part of the conference Dr Artur Górecki, Rector of Collegium Intermarium, stated that "changes that are now being implemented in education are dangerous and highly destructive due to the fact that they are directed against the real well-being of man." He pointed out that governance in education can only be restored on the basis of classical values, metaphysical and theological references, as well as the cultural ones with which a programme fight is taking place today. It is crucial to specify who man is, not “what kind of man there is today.”

Mec. Jerzy Kwasniewski, president of the Ordo Iuris Institute, pointed out that through no referendum or any ratified agreement, Poland has not renounced sovereignty in the field of education, but subsequent governments through dozens of actual actions, adopted global recommendations of standards, trainings, backing allowed to interfere increasingly in the Polish education strategy and made Poland not sovereign in the area of education. The counselor spoke of the rule of subsidiarity, highlighting the precedence of parents in raising children and the request for the diversity of educational institutions that they can choose. In the context of the planned mandatory subject matter, wellness education has encouraged civilian disobedience.

During the discussion he took the floor, among others. Waldemar Jakubowski, president of the Education and Education Section of the NSZZ “Solidarity”, saying that the blame for the current state of the Polish school falls on the full elite not only political but besides social Poland. He said that we function in cognitive and organizational chaos, regretting that there was never a real strategy for the improvement of education. He besides criticized the postgraduate profile project. He talked about the demolition of investigation institutes and the European Educational Area.

Finally Agnieszka Pawlik-Regulska, president of the Association “Teachers for Freedom” She called for the school to cease to be the arena of political conflict between different political groups, claiming that what could aid the Polish school get out of the crisis was its depoliticization and ensuring stableness and peace, as well as a real improvement in the authority of the teacher.
