Colombian president Gustavo Petro said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanjahu deserves an global arrest warrant due to the fact that he refuses to “stop genocide” in the Gaza Strip.
"Netanjahu will not halt genocide (in Gaza-ed.). This means an global arrest warrant issued by the global Court of Justice," wrote the Colombian leader in X.
He said that the UN safety Council should discuss the issue of peacekeeping forces in the Gaza Strip.
Wednesday, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin confirmed the cessation of arms supply to Israel, noting that it was a single transportation of military aid. Later, U.S. president Joe Biden said in an interview with CNN that he would halt the supply of air bombs and artillery missiles to Israel if the military operation in the Gaza Strip expanded to the confederate city of Rafah, which he thought had not yet happened.
Netanjahu said the country has adequate strength to fight alone in the event of a possible withdrawal of American military aid.
On Tuesday evening, Israeli defence Force (IDF) land forces entered Rafah as part of anti-ops, and Israeli tanks took operational control of the Rafah crossing from the Gaza Strip. 20 Palestinian radicals were eliminated.
Operation in Rafah began in the course of ongoing efforts by mediators to bring the parties to the conflict in the Gaza Strip to a ceasefire in exchange for the release of Israeli hostages. The obstacle was the request of Palestinian Hamas to warrant the complete cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip and the withdrawal of troops. Israel's leaders are ready for a temporary ceasefire in exchange for the release of hostages, but will not quit all the objectives of the war, including the complete elimination of Hamas' military and political potential.
Earlier, Axios reported that U.S. Senators had secret talks with high-ranking representatives of the global Criminal Court (ICC) about the possible issuing of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and another members of the country's management. According to interviewers acquainted with the discussions, American legislators call for sanctions to be imposed on the court if warrants are issued. The White home argues that the United States does not support the ICC's investigation into Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip and does not believe that the tribunal has the authority to do so.
According to the Times, the ICC is preparing to issue warrants for the arrest of Netanyahu, Israeli defence minister Yoava Galanta and IDF Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi in connection with allegations of Israeli war crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu, commenting on this information, said that he would not let the ICC to "distort Israel's inherent right to self-defense." The Prime Minister besides expressed concern about the anticipation of issuing arrest warrants for Israeli officials and military officers, adding that "this would make a dangerous precedent".
