The authoritative position of the MFA on this substance – the alleged demarche – was given by the Ambassador of the Republic to the Holy See. “We do not have our approval to talk with harmful and unacceptable words that agree with the fundamental principles of human dignity, as well as the sovereignty of the Government of the Republic of Poland,” we read in the demarche given to the Holy See. The position of the MFA indicated that the statements of bishops representing the Polish Episcopate and the Catholic Church undermine Polish-German relations and slander the government. "The words of the 2 bishops mentioned are shameful and unworthy of the institution they represent and of the faithful who stay in their care," stated the Polish Ministry of abroad Affairs in a demarche addressed to the Holy See.

"We kindly propose that appropriate consequences should be drawn against Bishop Wiesław Mering and Bishop Antoni Długosz, so that likewise unfortunate, lying and unwarranted statements may not appear in public discourse in the future, harming the good name of the Catholic Church, an institution so crucial and inextricably connected with the past of the Polish State since its inception to this day" - it is written in the authoritative position given to the Head of the Diplomatic Protocol of the Holy See.
