The Dicastery of the Doctrine of religion gave approval to Archbishop Bourges to issue a decree "nihil obstat" concerning a service connected with a Marian sanctuary in a tiny French town, where in 1876 the mediocre servant Estelle Faguette was to receive respective apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
"Though this is not the present practice" [Dicastery of the Doctrine of religion to] "to talk of the supernatural character or divine origin of supernatural phenomena and expected messages, the statements that Estelle presented as coming from the Blessed Virgin Mary have peculiar value that allows us to see the Holy Spirit working in all this spiritual experience," wrote Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernández in a letter addressed to Archbishop Bourges, Jérôme Daniel Beau. The prefect with the consent of Pope Francis on 22 August allowed the decree to be implemented nihil obstat to the worship of Our woman of Mercy, venerated in the Sanctuary in Pellevoisin. It's a tiny town in central France. In 1876, the mediocre servant, Estelle Faguette, was to receive respective apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary there.
Prefect Fernández stated that "there are no doctrinal, moral, or another objections to this spiritual event," which the faithful may "accept in a wise manner" (Norms, 22:1). "(...) in this case, this service, which is already developing, is especially recommended for those who want to take it voluntarily" due to the "road of spiritual simplicity, trust and love", which can bring many benefits and "will surely be a good for the full Church," he stressed.
According to Vatican News, Estelle was born on September 12, 1843 to a very mediocre household in northern France. To keep herself and her parents, she worked first as a workwoman and then as a servant. erstwhile she became seriously sick and her life was in danger, she wrote a letter to Our woman asking for healing so that she could proceed to support her mediocre parents.
“Her words,” writes the prefect, hit with their simplicity, clarity and humility. Estelle describes the suffering caused by the disease. He does not boast about the Christian spirit of resignation. On the contrary, she explains her interior opposition to the illness that ruined her life plans."
Eventually, however, Estelle surrendered to God’s will. She just wanted to aid her father and parent with all the strength she had left.
According to a woman's account, in February 1876, erstwhile she was 32, the first apparitions began. On the fifth, according to the promise previously received, she was completely healed. This was thanks to Our Lady's intercession with the Son. The miracle was confirmed by Archbishop Bourges on September 8, 1893, with the approval of the Holy Oficjum.
In her messages, Mary shows Estelle all her closeness and sensitivity, sending her words of encouragement: – Don't be afraid, you're my daughter.; – If you want to service me, be straight; – Courage;I will accompany you invisiblely. [...] There's nothing to be afraid of.; – I choose tiny and weak for my glory. Later there were to be admonitions to stay calm: – Be calm, my daughter, be patient, you will have difficulties, but I am with you; – I want you were even more calm [...] You request any rest. This invitation is besides addressed to the Church: – W The Church doesn't have the peace I want.
Estelle reported: “My God, how beautiful she was! She stood inactive for a long time, saying nothing... After that silence, she looked at me; I don't know what I felt; so I was happy!; She didn't tell me anything. Then she looked at me with a very gentle look and walked away; She looked at me inactive smiling; What beauty and what sweetness! What goodness in her sight and what mercy!"
Our woman addressed the female with the command to distribute the Scapular with the image of the Heart of Christ. She invited us to "turn to this loving heart of the Lord." Showing the scapular of the Sacred Heart of Christ, Mary said: - My Son's treasures have long been open... I love this service.
Estelle accepted the call. Her life passed in humility, she had to face many trials, including accusations and slanders. In 1925 she joined the 3rd Dominican order. She died in Pellevoisin on 23 August 1929, aged 85.
In 1892, Leon XIII granted indulgences to pilgrims arriving in Pellevoisin, and in 1900 recognized the Scapler of the Sacred Heart. Benedict XV in 1915, accepting the Scapular, stated that "Pellevoisin was chosen by the Blessed Virgin as a peculiar place where she spreads her graces." In 1922, the Holy Virgin Mass was approved for the parish of Pellevoisin on 9 September.
