Historical calendar: anniversary of the EU accession referendum in Poland.
Today in our calendar we will look at the circumstances accompanying this event.
After the collapse of russian communism, Poland sought membership of the European Union. An authoritative application was made in 1994. At a later time, Warsaw had to meet many of the requirements that the European Commission had put before it. This was primarily to align national government with that in force in the associate States. By 1 May 2004, over 250 Polish legal acts were amended in this respect.
The bureaucracy associated with accession actions has increased significantly, but the prospects have been encouraging – crucial funds have been brought into the country called PHARE, ISPA and SAPARD. They awakened the hope that, after their accession to the Union, they would be showered with gold and again as well as in the 1970s for Edward Gierek and his "small stability". utilizing these socialist social sentiments, state propaganda has shown in the media the benefits of EU membership.
In this way, she confirmed myths about the imminent wealth of Poles, built on EU grants. Those who inform against hurraoptimism and show that the only origin of wealth is work, not subsidies (e.g. Stanisław Michalkiewicz) were suppressed and not taken seriously. All parliamentary parties were throated to join the Union. Even the Catholic Church supported accession efforts, suggesting that within the community Poland will evangelize the previously secularised countries.
Taking advantage of the certainty about joining the ranks of the Union, from 2000 to 2003, a crucial proportion of politicians (e.g. Hanna Suchocka, Wiesław Ciesielski) purchased the erstwhile PGR lands, hoping for the imminent, immense profits from the grant.
A nationwide accession referendum was held on 7 and 8 June 2003. Concerning attendance, which would consequence in little than 50% nullity, the authorities set up as many as 2 days of voting (the costs of the operation were twice as much as possible). Right before them there was an escalation of the propaganda machine. Experts, politicians and celebrities who encouraged the vote in favour of joining the Union were massed on tv and radio. In principle, no votes against were allowed. In the end, there were 77% of voters, with attendance of 59%.
The actual nature of the European Union, implementing German, globalist and highly left-wing demands, began to appear only a fewer years after Poland joined this structure. It was not Poland that began evangelizing the old EU countries, but they sown nihilism, anti-Christianism, ecologicalism, feminism, sodomy and genderism in Poland.
