"Beyond the left and the right, against globalisation", has late become an increasingly popular slogan in anti-globalist environments.
This slogan expresses the desire to overcome classical dichotomy right - left in modern Western societies, but besides the desire to propose a new, thoroughly anti-imperialist alternate to status quo.
Global Conflict
Why does it convince me? Let me tell you about my own political experience. Politics has fascinated me from an early age; for years I have been active in leftist movements, especially those Marxist ones. It was there that I began to survey global political events and a field known as geopolitics. NATO's aggression against Libya and its disastrous consequences prompted me to focus on the survey of imperialism which is the highest phase of capitalism to usage words Vladimir Lenin; and the contrast between imperialism and its victims as the most crucial at the level of global contradiction.
Analyzing and assessing the struggles of various countries and cultures for independency and sovereignty, I frequently found a peculiar difference between Western societies and the Global South. In most of these countries, maintaining and defending their own culture is considered crucial and obvious. In countries specified as Belgium, the situation is different. They even ask what our own culture would be. There are frequently not many fundamental differences between societies specified as Belgium, Germany, England and even the United States.
A barren right, a barren left
Globalisation, in which the United States played a key role, has created a kind of superstructure above our societies: a structure consisting of liberal free marketplace values and cosmopolitan collective thinking. The thought of defending conventional values in Europe was monopolized by the alleged right, which usually leads it in a very shallow way. On the right side of the political barricade, there is frequently excessive fear by “foreigners”, foreigners, those with different colors of skin, language and religion. There is no knowing of the essence: the fact that our traditions are destroyed by the cosmopolitan, liberal capitalist strategy and sociocultural changes that accompany it.
On the another hand, the cultural aspect is mostly completely underestimated on the left. Although leftist groups have the courage to ask questions about the economical foundations of the strategy and their antisocial consequences, they have been doing so little and little in the past 30 years. At the same time, they have the complete link between cultural identity and society. The specified consideration of conventional values, issues of ethics and national sovereignty of countries is considered unacceptable, usually in the planet due to the fact that these matters have been regarded as "right".
Right-left globalisation
In most countries of the world, specified thematic classification does not exist. Cuban supporters of Castro are usually very patriotic; Chinese communists mention to these hard conventional values, respecting the Confucian and Buddhist traditions of their country; while conservative Muslim politicians, for example in Malaysia, frequently have economical programs more left-wing than the average European Social Democrat. The stubborn adherence to a restrictive division into the left and right, dating from the 18th century, prevents us from decently defining social problems and seeking solutions to them.
These examples are just an illustration. I am not calling for copying any systems, treating them as models for Belgian society. The point is that the fight takes place on 2 fronts: at the same time, “right” concepts specified as liberal free market, budget cuts, obsessive privatisation and imperialistic abroad interventions, and “left” dogmas specified as the elimination of religion from public life, omnipresent ideology gender, the excessive importance of LGBT identity and the thought of "nationality of the world", without any roots or national foundations.
Globalist hybrid
In fact, everything is obvious. The "right" and "left" threads are combined into 1 and promoted by propagandists of liberal capitalism and globalism.
As they say, “socially liberal but economically conservative” combine unlimited capitalism with individual freedom to search salvation in drugs, sex, and another forms of perversion. In specified a society, anything is allowed, provided that it does not compromise the wealthiest profits. What we call the right now is frequently associated with a “progressive”, liberal programme, criticism of conventional identity and organized religion. On the another hand, the concept of the “priority of the Western model” which must be spread around the planet even against the will of local nations is now clearly present on the left.
Abandon superstition
The answer to these phenomena must be to exceed the old dichotomy left - right. It is not immigrants that are the real problem, but the strategy that has made migration a billion-dollar business for itself. The problem is not a white, heterosexual citizen of Flemish origin, but a strategy that deprives him of safe jobs, pension rights and even basic individual security. The superstitions that be on both the left and the right are an obstacle to solving the most crucial social problems.
It is possible to combine social justice and human economics with preserving and defending the conventional values and national sovereignty of each country. In fact, this is precisely what the left has been standing on for decades before it succumbed to the agenda of secondary progressive themes in fresh years.
End of hegemony
We live in a planet of highly fast changes. The model of planet politics created after the end of the Cold War is being disintegrated. The single-polar governance, managed by the United States and supported by NATO, has been replaced by a multi-polar order in which each civilization has the right to make in accordance with its identity, standards and values. European countries are besides faced with this possibility: they can return to their sovereign identity again, breaking the imagination of an uprooted society that has been nipped by neoliberal elites. Capitalistic consumer society and cosmopolitan individualism are values abroad to my country and even to our full continent. They are the superstructure of the structure that can and should be dismantled.
That is why I am favourably referring to the slogan "Neither the left nor the right." The most crucial contradiction at the political level is the contradiction between imperialism, now occurring as globalism, and the remainder of the world. This fight goes beyond the outdated disputes in which our political systems are inactive besides frequently plunged.
