Prime Minister Donald Tusk alarms: a conflict in the mediate East can endanger planet peace. On Friday, Israel attacked Iranian atomic objects and Tehran responded with rockets. Are we on the verge of a global war?
On Friday, June 14, 2025, Israel raided Iran's atomic installations. The attack was intended to prevent Iran from acquiring atomic weapons. Among the victims was the chief commander of the muslim Revolutionary defender Corps, Hosejn Salami.
Iran's ultimate leader, Ajatollah Ali Chamenei, confirmed the death of advanced military rank and announced retaliation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the operation could take respective days to respective weeks.
Iran responds with rockets: “We will open the gates of hell”
In the evening of the same day, Iran launched respective twelve missiles towards Israel. Alarm sirens sounded throughout the country, and explosions were heard in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. According to the Jerusalem Post, 5 people were injured as a consequence of the attack.
The fresh IRGC commander, Mohammad Pakpour, announced that Iran's consequence would be crushing. Earlier in the media, his words were: “We will open the gates of hell” in retaliation for the death of the erstwhile commander.
Donald Tusk: “We are close to global conflict”
Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the situation on platform X (formerly Twitter), informing of the anticipation of a world-wide war.
"The confrontation between Israel and Iran is moving towards a regular war in a region that can destabilise the full world. We haven't been this close to a global conflict since planet War II. Europe and the US must unite their efforts to halt further escalation. It is inactive not besides late!” – wrote the head of the Polish government.
Can the planet avoid war?
Tusk called for joint diplomatic action by the European Union and the United States. In his opinion, only a fast and coordinated reaction can prevent further bloodshed.
The situation in the mediate East remains highly tense, and any further attack can lead to uncontrolled escalation. Can the global community halt the conflict before it gets out of control?
