A loud draft amendment to the Act on the IPN and the Criminal Code Act, in which the punishment was to be glorified by Ukrainian Nazism, It went into the seismic freezer. Its action is blocked by the ruling coalition, although Marshal Simon Holovnia assured that the practice of freezing projects would go back to history.
Holownia froze the anti-Bander Act. The main component of the planned amendment is the introduction of criminality for Volyn lies, i.e. denying the authenticity of Ukrainian genocide crime from 1943 to 1947. At least 100,000 Poles died of these crimes, as well as Jews, Czechs and Armenians. The second component to be penalized is the promotion of the flag ideology as 1 of forms of totalitarianism, comparable to German Nazism. In fact, Ukrainians collaborated extensively with Nazis.
"The Coalition on 13 December blocks the drafting of an amendment to the IPN Act and the Criminal Code penalising the alleged Volyn lie and the glorification of flagism. The task has been in the seismic freezer for six months.” – wrote ed. Rafał Stefaniuk from “Our Journal”.
As the diary reminds, the first reading of the bill took place on 6 February. Efforts were made to get the paper consecutive to second reading, but it was addressed to the Committee on Justice and Human Rights. From there he flew into the celebrated “freezer”.
As “Our Journal” learned, the task is "at the committee phase after first reading. In accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Sejm, the committee shall be chaired by its bureau, inter alia by drawing up draft working plans for the committee and by setting deadlines and agendas for meetings."
Stopping work has nothing to do with the complexity of the project. It's a clear political game. The paper contains only 2 provisions – it speaks of the penalization of the alleged Volynian lie, that is, public denial, depreciation or relativisation of crimes committed by the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (CNS), Ukrainian Insurgency Army (UPA) and another cooperative formations with the 3rd Reich. It is so aimed mainly at Ukrainian Nazis who came to Poland after 24 February 2022.
"I regret that Simon Holovnia is incapable to fulfill his basic promise: to remove the task freezer from the Sejm. Poland needs these solutions due to the fact that the problem of promoting flagism and lies in Volynsk is increasingly visible" – pointed out Prof. Mieczysław Ryba, a associate of the INP College.
OUR COMMENTS: As we can see, Polish-speaking authorities will do anything not only for Jews but besides Ukrainians and put their interests ahead of Polish interests. In this way, as Poles we officially fall into the category of third-class citizens in theoretically our own country.
