On Saturday 5 September, the Government safety Center sent an alert to residents of 49 counties in Lublin and Podkarpackie provinces in connection with the Russian air attack on Ukraine. Military aviation was operating in the Polish space. At 3:58 p.m., RCB cancelled the informing and confirmed the absence of a threat to Poland.
RCB alert for 49 counties
The informing covered much of east Poland. In Lublin Voivodeship, they were sent to recipients in 24 powiats and cities under the laws of the powiat: Puławy, Opole, Lublin, Lublin, Lublin, Kraśniecki, Janówski, Włodawski, Łęczyński, Świdnicki, Chełmie, Chełmski, Krasnostawski, Hrubieszowski, Zamość, Zamość, Tomaszowski, Biligorski, Łukowski, Biała Podlaska, Białski, Rycki, Radzyński, Parczewski and Lubartowski.
In Podkarpacie, the alert went to 25 districts and towns: Tarnobrzeg, Tarnobrzeg, Tarnobrzeg, Stałovowolski, Nienański, Lezazowski, Mielecki, Dębicki, Rzeszow, Rzeszow, Rzeszow, Rzeszow, Rzeszow, Raszowski, Rańczutski, Przemyśl, Sanocki, Leski, Krosn, Krosn, Krosnoński and Bieszczadzki.
Russian attack launched Polish procedures
The RCB reported that the informing was related to Russian air strikes on Ukraine. The situation was monitored and military aviation operated in the Polish space. For residents of border regions, this meant a clear signal: the war across the east border can inactive force protective action on the Polish side.
It wasn't the first case. In August Russian attack besides attacked Polish aviation and launched an alert in Lublin. Repeatability of akin situations shows that defence of Polish airspace cannot be based on improvisation. There is simply a request for efficient detection systems, ready-to-use flight work and clear information for the population.
Warning cancelled in little than an hour
The first information Polish Radio Lublin published at 3:01 pm. At 3:58 P.M., an update appeared: the attack in Ukraine ended and RCB confirmed no threat to the territory of the Republic. Residents were advised to proceed tracking messages.
The RCB Alert strategy provides warnings based on information from public services and institutions. The fact that we received the message does not mean that the Polish border has been breached. However, it means that the services have identified a hazard that citizens should know about.
The safety of Polish families is at stake
The inhabitants of Lublin and Podkarpacie have the right to anticipate 2 things: effective protection of heaven and information that leaves no area for panic. Saturday's series was clear. First a informing and action of aviation, then a clear cancellation of the alarm.
Russia is liable for a situation in which Polish border regions must live in increased readiness. Poland's right state requires a cool reaction, its own defence capabilities and serious treatment of each signal. No hysteria. No disrespect.
