During only 1 day of this week, nearly 180 attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border were recorded in Podlasie.
Migrants from Ethiopia, Afghanistan and Somalia tried to enter Poland utilizing various methods, specified as crossing the border of the Świsłocz, Istochanek and Volkushanka rivers, and in the vicinity of Bobrownik utilized a pontoon. In the area of Czeremchy and Mielnik, after unsuccessful attempts to cross the border, migrants attacked Polish services with stones, damaging the Border defender vehicle. At the same time, the latest polls indicate strong opposition of Poles to the admission of migrants. According to the opinion24 for RMF FM, as many as 75% of respondents argue the admission of migrants under the EU solidarity mechanism. In particular, 51% are definitely against and 24% are against. Only 5% of respondents powerfully support specified a policy, and 15% are alternatively in favour.
Analysis of the survey results shows that men are more likely to argue receiving migrants than women (78% vs. 73%). The top opposition to the European Union's migration policy is shown by voters of Law and Justice and the Confederation, where 93% of respondents are opposed to receiving migrants.
These results reflect increasing public concerns about illegal immigration and the request to effectively defend national borders.
