Nostalgia as a longing for the Polish People's Republic, for the past for generations who have very small in common with the Polish People's Republic due to the late (post-PRL-owski) time of their birth is present a mass social phenomenon.
This is due to the deficiency of satisfaction in the current socio-political system, of simple human needs specified as safety and a sense of social value.
You wanted to live.
During the period of real socialism, Polish society was more mentally healthy than today. This expressed a low degree of aggression and a higher degree of tolerance. The reason was the state's systemic changes after planet War II. Universal access to work, even to the humblest one, caused people to feel value. He raised self-esteem. Universal access to free education, wellness services, easy access to practically free housing, provided a solid basis for self-development and the desire to live. Hence, the alleged demographic high. People wanted to live, learn, work, love and start families.
A Hosting Lesson
An additional origin was the fact that a group of people who knew the realities of the interwar period and who knew the times of war and Nazi business dominated the postwar society. That is due to the fact that I was born after the war, almost all my teachers I had contact with as part of my education knew the reality of the past war. I remember perfectly how in simple school the first song, whose words had to be perfectly known by heart was the Polish anthem. I remember perfectly well the first serious, if not the most serious educational lesson in my life, which was the school journey to the Nazi extermination camp in Oświęcim. The most poignant thing about visiting this extermination camp was the fact that the guide was 1 of my school teachers, a prisoner of this camp. In addition, the cognition that my uncle Suchanek, a Pole Catholic, was turned to ash there. Although I did not become a pacifist due to it, I became only a declared opponent of war on Polish soil. And I have acquired any irreconcilable aversion to all kinds of chiefs, usurping the right to exercise authority.
Gomulko and Rapacki behind the room
I remember the sense of peaceful speeches. Władysław GomulkaI only appreciated after years as a large Polish patriot. I remember at his initiative on October 2, 1957, the then abroad Minister Adam Rapacki on XII. The UN General Assembly proposed to make a non-atomic region in Central Europe. This proposal then took the form of a government memorandum dated February 14, 1958. I besides remember the task – the plan of Władysław Gomulka to halt the cold war arms race first presented by him on 28 December 1963 at a rally in Płock. The plan was to frost atomic and thermonuclear weapons in the following countries: Poland, Czechoslovakia, East Germany and Germany. As a concrete proposal, it was presented in a government memorandum dated 29 February 1964, addressed to governments of elected states, including the US and the USSR. I will mention that the Rapack plan and later actions of Gomulka were a consequence to erstwhile occurrences Konrad Adenauer (RFN Chancellor from 1949 to 1963) after the West Germany joined NATO and announced the deployment of American atomic weapons there.
Own experience
At this point, I request to explain that my individual life in PRL is associated with the pain, suffering and memories of the immediate threat of my life. At the age of 20 a fewer years after my arrival from the West, on the basis of a report, I was tried to delegate a suspicion of espionage, claiming that it was expected to be my goal of returning to People's Poland. I've been under surveillance always since. My life was systematically destroyed. At the beginning of the martial law, the people of the "military" physically tried to kill me. Only thanks to my physical fitness and average happiness did I survive. After the collapse of real socialism and the announcement of the release of a file of services curious in respective of my old “colleagues” told me that they were active in informing the safety authorities about me. I can't change my life experiences and memories of the past. I besides have no desire or intention of making out with fanatic PRL lovers. I mention to the PRL on the basis of my own personal, authentic to last from that time.
From People's Poland to the Police State
Living in PRL, I felt that I was surviving in a police state. After changing my strategy at first I felt relief. Years later, I gotta say that I was wrong, due to the fact that modern Poland is now marked by a police state. In the past in the Polish People's Republic, despite suspicions at my address, harassment, in the form of cases brought to me before the alleged College of Judges for Offences, severe to me in consequences and painful murder, has never been utilized in the Polish People's Republic for the intent of breaking me as it was done present in relation to self-defense policy, journalist, scientist, academic teacher, doctor of political discipline Matthew Piskorski, held for almost 3 years in mining custody, or Janusz Niedźwiecki, activist for peaceful coexistence, presently held, for more than 3 and a half years in mining custody (Sic!).
From peace initiatives to force to war
In contrast to the initiative of Wladyslaw Gomułko, the U.S. atomic weapon is seen as a public betrayal of our Polish national interests, and it interferes with our physical, biological survival, while the created strategy is based on the solidarity of Polish society (described in the book Prof. Bruno Drewski from Paris The Lost past of Solidarity) is for us the shackles that prevent self-determination. What is the regulation of a line jumper about the presence of a stangret and his forysia* The "taliba" without any presence is proof of this.
