In the first circular of the presidential election held on 18 May 2025, no of the candidates obtained the required majority of votes, which means that a second circular must be held.According to authoritative results, the second circular went:

  • Rafał Trzaskowski (Civil Coalition) – 31.4%

  • Karol Nawrocki (Law and Justice) – 29.5%

The another candidates obtained the following results:

  • Sławomir Mentzen (Confederation) – 14.8%

  • Grzegorz Braun (Confederation) – 6.2%

  • Simon Holovnia (Third Road) – 5.9%

  • Magdalena Biejat (New Left) – 4.7%

  • Joanna Senyszyn (Left) – 2.3%

  • Marek Jakubiak (No Party) – 1.9%

  • Maciej Maciak (Movement of Sovereignty) – 1.3%

  • Krzysztof Stanowski (independent) – 1.0%

  • Other candidates – 1.0%

Turnout was 66.8%.These results show that the electorate is divided, and votes cast on candidates who have not gone to the second circular can play a key function in the final settlement.

Trzaskowski-Nawrocks debate after 1st round

On Friday, May 23, 2025, there was a tv debate between Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki, preceding the second circular of presidential elections.During the two-hour clash, candidates presented different visions of abroad policy, safety and relations with the European Union and Ukraine.

Trzaskowski, representing the Civic Coalition, stressed the request to proceed supporting Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression and to proceed integration with the European Union.In turn, Nawrocki, supported by Law and Justice, expressed scepticism towards further expansion of NATO into Ukraine and criticized imports of cheaper agricultural products from this country, which, in his opinion, harms Polish farmers.

Rafał Trzaskowski during the debate with Karol Nawrocki raised the subject of his rival's links with the criminal world. “How will you look at police officers who are fighting crime, who will receive general nominations erstwhile you have participated in specified situations?” the president of Warsaw asked. In response, Karol Nawrocki approached Trzaskowski and wanted to give him a image of the president of Warsaw and a man convicted of pedophilia.

On energy issues, Nawrocki advocated the improvement of coal and atomic energy, criticising renewable energy sources as “fanaber”.Trzaskowski pointed out the request to modernise the energy sector utilizing EU funds and make RES.

The debate highlighted the deep differences in the approach of both candidates to key issues of interior and abroad policy, which could importantly affect voters' decisions in the upcoming second circular of the presidential election.

The second circular of the presidential election will be held on 1 June 2025.
