"Since November 2024, the network of toll roads in Poland will be importantly expanded. For the first time since 2017, the government has decided to introduce charges on additional sections of highways and expressways", informs GazetaPrawna.pl on Tuesday.
Under the Public Roads Act, the fees will apply to vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of over 3.5 tonnes and buses.
The network extension will include the following sections of the road:
Highway A1: Piotrków Trybunalski Node South – Pyrzowice Node
Highway A2: Lublin Node – Choszczówka Dębska
Expressway S1: Milówka – Hardy
S2 expressway: Puławska node – Lublin node
Expressway S3: Node Parłówko – Node Miękowo; Node Skwierzyna South – Node Inter-South; Node fresh Salt West – Node Bolków
Expressway S5: Bydgoszcz Node North – Gniezno Node South; Poznań Node West – Rydzyna Node Korzensko Node Wrocław Node North

The government claims that the ‘expandation of toll road networks’ will increase gross to the National Road Fund (KFD). Only this year they are expected to increase by PLN 1.2 billion, and let us remind that the number of toll roads will be increased in November!
However, expanding gross is not all. According to GazetaPrawna.pl, it is besides about "aligning the costs of the logistics manufacture in different regions of Poland" and "supporting the competitiveness of the railway sector according to the assumptions of the National Reconstruction Plan".
