On Wednesday, they brought a defender before the territory Court in Warsaw. From their side were the words about the “directed process”, “hunting” and “rousing fantasy”. The verdict will be announced on November 22.

On Wednesday afternoon, for 5 hours, the court has been proceeding the follow-up of the closing statements in this process. At the erstwhile trial on 28 October, the final speeches were given by prosecutors, who demanded a full life conviction for Robert S., accused among others of killing the matrimony of Jaroszewiczs, and 7 and 5.5 years imprisonment for Dariusz S. and Marcin B. All the defendants were members of the alleged karate gang, which committed respective twelve robberies in the 1990s.

According to defender Robert S., lawyer David Dąbrowski in this case, the prosecution wants to “convince a hypothesis that simply contradicts the truth”, and the prosecution's actions in the investigation “were an effort to break an innocent man.” According to the defender, his client Robert S. was not at all at the scene of the execution of the Jaroszewicz marriage.

The lawyer pointed out that the factual basis of the indictment of Robert S. “are characterized by an extraordinary weakness”. He assessed that the versions of the events, which were given as the basis for the actual indictment, "in rule do not coincide with the first investigation (from the 1990s – ed.) concerning the assassination of the Jaroszewicz State, which in fact had already been conducted from the very beginning". In his opinion, the evidence carried out in the investigation of the defendants in this case was ‘directed’ and de facto It was about "hunting Robert S.".

This last aspect was highlighted by all defenders. They pointed out that the evidence procedure did not add anything fresh to the case compared to the 1990s, and the only fresh component was the explanations of Dariusz S. and Marcin B., in which they spoke about their engagement in the robbery in 1992. However, in the assessment of the defence, these explanations were not due to the fact that they were active in this event only in the calculation of procedural matters related, inter alia, to the desire to mitigate penalties in another cases.

In October, the prosecution argued that Dariusz S. and Marcin B. deserve to be applied an extraordinary relaxation of the penalty. "Without explaining these people, cases covered by this indictment would stay unexplained, and families would never know the truth," the prosecutor stressed.

The case concerns 1 of the most excruciating crimes of the early 1990s. Piotr Jaroszewicz, Prime Minister of the Polish People's Republic from 1970 to 1980, was killed with his wife Alicja Solska-Jaroszewicz in their home in Anina on the night of 31 August 1992. Furthermore, the indictment concerns the assassination of S. matrimony in 1991 in Gdynia and the attempted execution of a man in Isabella in 1993.

The Prosecutor's Office reported a breakthrough in the case in 2018. She yet accused Robert S. of suffocating Peter Jaroszewicz and of shooting his wife in their home in Anina. Robert S. is besides charged with crimes from Gdynia and Isabella. Dariusz S. and Marcin B. are accused of complicity in the assassination of the Prime Minister.
