The overwhelming majority of Poles do not want the Green Deal and the liquidation of the Polish state [Our poll]
03.06.2024 12:56
At the moment, the results of the survey "Poles on Green Łada" – possibly the most crucial in the past of Poland's presence in the European Union – are being prepared and a study is being prepared on the basis of them. The report, as the co-author Dr. Katarzyna Obłąkowska assures, will be published and presented to the government and parliamentarians. In time, it will besides be in Brussels offices. On the 1 hand, to draw the attention of the Eurocrats that their policy of slow change from democracy, which was the beginning of a united Europe, to autocratism, which could become 1 of the elements introduced successively – as predicted by the Communist Manifesto of Ventotene – a superstate with its capital in Brussels, a federation of regions alternatively than states – is not overlooked by European nations, and surely not by Poles. On the another hand, to inspire European researchers to carry out akin investigation in another European Union countries. investigation that can break the spiral of silence imposed on almost all Western European society.
The survey "Police on Green Łada" shows 2 things – regardless of the beautiful European words, but besides many Polish politicians about the request to introduce sustainable eco-development Poles disagree with its assumptions.
Although this is another conclusion – we do not know all these assumptions. Of the fewer twelve acts that have been voted on and which are beginning to apply or are about to become the basis of the Green Deal, our representatives in Brussels have not mentioned or said reluctantly. Whether we are talking about Euro-Parliamentarians or government and the Nadwiślanian public administration. Whether it was due to their ignorance, or whether it was unwilling to translate everything to a sovereign, who – this trend has been observed for respective years not only in Poland – slow turns into a class of subjects, just as EU democracy turns into autocracy.
Poles fear Green Deal
In the vast majority – almost 80% of the surveyed representatives of all professional groups and social classes in Poland – we do not agree to the introduction of the Green Deal on Vistula in the current form. 34.9 percent of Poles believe that this EU policy should be rejected in its entirety. 42.9 percent of us think that crucial changes should be made, otherwise there is no agreement to accept it. Even those who are most on the way with Brussels politicians are convinced that there should be small change in the Green Rule. And only 3.3 percent of the surveyed Poles support the Green Deal rules and regulations in full and uncritical terms.
– Our investigation shows that Poles in the large majority of the Green Deal are just afraid
– comments Dr. Katarzyna Obłąkowska.
– Its farmers and business owners are most concerned. At least the inhabitants of the largest Polish agglomerations and, which amazed me, pensioners. This may be due to the fact that they hear assurances of state support for those with the lowest incomes throughout the EU. Farmers, whose strike we are presently seeing in Poland, as well as the owners of private companies, are incapable to calculate the costs of their business after the introduction of Green Deal regulations. Many entrepreneurs, and we know this not only from research, but besides from the ongoing public debate on this subject, fear that their companies will be able to last the introduction of these rules.
Therefore, it is not amazing to have an exceptionally strong social support for the strike of farmers. The strike is powerfully supported by 41.3% of Poles, 23.1% of Poles, and more broadly supported by the strike.
Referendum is necessary
Poles besides powerfully request a nationwide and binding ruling referendum on the introduction of Green Deal.
The question, ‘Should a referendum be held in Poland on the commitment of the Government, Parliament and the president of the Republic of Poland to take action to completely reject the European Union's policy called the Green Deal?’, more than half of the respondents (“yes definitely” – 33.1 percent, “more like yes” – 23.4%) replied that they expected specified a referendum.
– Our investigation shows that only 26.4% of society is against this referendum. And again, we see the highest support for him among farmers (71%), who are convinced that the referendum should take place with this question, which is the de facto request of the public authorities to reject the Green Deal completely," explains Dr. Obłąkowska. – A very strong support for the referendum is among people working in manufacture – it is almost 66%, in construction – almost 68%, but 62% besides among office workers.
This means that Poles do not want to be the subject of this or any another EU policy. We want to be an entity, which was clearly evident from the answers besides to another questions of our study.
Poles do not want an EU superstate
The question is: ‘Are you in favour of the liquidation of the Republic of Poland by including its territory and its population in the national European Union with its capital in Brussels?’,
"Definitely not," 69 percent of respondents replied.
14 per cent indicated the consequence "not so", which is 83% in total.
Only 3% of respondents were in favour of resigning from the Polish statehood ("yes definitely" and "yes probably").
14%, i.e. about 4.2 million people - is it hard to say??
3% of 30 million adults give 900,000 citizens
I wonder who's on it...

This means that Poles do not want and will not advance the creation of an EU superstate. As a country, we have joined the home community and we anticipate the Union to keep this status.
Most, due to the fact that 62.2 percent of Poles, powerfully support this future model of the European Union. If this position is to change, Eurocrats must reckon with the increasing reluctance of Poles to the Community. Already today, the sum of votes powerfully and alternatively supporting Poland's leaving the European Union is 22.4 percent of the respondents, i.e. over 1 fifth. akin results were shown by the United Kingdom independency Party's investigation before the start of (failed for UKIP but failed for the British economy) brexit procedure, or divorce with Brussels.
It is worth noting, however, that more than 60% of us want to stay in the European Community ("decisiveness" – 42.5 percent, "more than" – 20.5 percent).
– However, it is simply a community of equal actors, a Europe of Homelands – explains Dr. Katarzyna Obłąkowska. – Poland is simply a state of Western Christianity and Western civilization. Poland wants to be in the EU, we are surely far from east European civilization, characterised by autocratic governments. We want to be in a democratic world, a union of equal nations, without xenophobia, nations that respect each another and where no 1 wants to dominate another. We do not support the European Union as a unitary, we do not agree to the federalisation of the community. We want to function as an equal partner for all in Europe of homelands based on the patriotism of all nation.
The Green Łódź survey was conducted at the turn of April and May this year on a example of 1,213 people with a maximum mistake of 3.7 percent. The method of the interviews was based on the method of triangulation – combined telephone, net and individual interview. The effort was consistent with the structure of gender, age, education, size and voivodship of residence, professional activity and the sector of employment of Poles.
Poles say no to Green Deal
Paweł Pietkun: – What do your investigation say about us, Poles, in the context of EU policies?
Dr. Katarzyna Obłąkowska: – Most of the society is either in favour of change, or in favour of full abandonment of the Green Deal. More than half of us want a referendum on this. This shows that we want to be national but besides European policy actors. Young adults, i.e. those between the ages of 30 and 44, and least seniors, want the referendum.
Polish citizens observe that EU policy is imposed in advance, without asking for their consent or opinion, in a completely autocratic way, where citizens are political subjects, actors and political elites and possibly any interest groups. We are not comfortable with this situation, especially adults during the period of action. This is the best proof that we are a nation no worse than another European nations, which demands that their political elites recognise who in our country is the actual sovereign.
Our survey was carried out at a time erstwhile we can inactive express our opinion on EU policy, but we may have missed the minute erstwhile we could inactive have a real impact on it, although I hope that this is not the case. The question is whether we are inactive actors in European policy. I wonder if we have been decently informed as a public by our representatives in Brussels, what is truly happening in the European Union. Green governance is simply a full series of government that has been under way for a long time. Meanwhile, we are only leaning over it now and not at the initiative of our representatives, but at the bottom.
– How do we compare to another European nations?
– I do not know what the opinion on the Green Deal of another European societies is, due to the fact that I have not studied another societies. I hope that akin investigation is besides carried out in another European countries, although I have not heard of any specified investigation so far.
We present our study – its editor will be Dr. Artur Bartoszewicz – to the government and Polish parliamentarians, we will surely present it at a peculiar press conference. I think that we will besides study to the European Commission and the Euro-Parliamentarians, especially as it will be the fresh European Parliament, I hope that it is delicate to the subjectivity of the citizens of the associate States. I would like to see akin investigation carried out in another countries too, due to the fact that our investigation may be besides weak a voice in EU policy. Remember that the Green Deal shows us not only the openness of European societies, for example, for change, but above all the condition of European democracy. In fact, the European Commission itself should carry out akin studies in all countries if it is geared towards democracy.
If EU officials do not want to ask European societies about the Green Deal and alternatively impose it top-down, it is clear that the Union is geared towards values another than democracy. That he wants to increasingly turn citizens from sovereign to subjects. We will surely do everything to interest the public in another European countries in our research. They're worth it.
