Representative of Hungary veto Council of Europe resolution on a “peace plan” for Ukraine. According to the Minister of abroad Affairs of this country, China and Russia were not taken into account in the document.
Hungary powerfully opposed the fictional peace plans. According to representatives of the authorities in Budapest, the thought of a resolution on the peace plan in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict was appropriate, but its expression was unacceptable. The point was that Russia was not allowed to talk and Chinese proposals were besides disregarded.
“The Council of Europe is presently 75 years old, could be a large platform for peace, but after the Russians were excluded this chance was lost” “The head of the Hungarian Ministry of abroad Affairs, Peter Szijjarto, wrote in his statement. “Instead of fantasizing about atomic war, we yet request real peace talks. Real talks can only take place if all the fighting parties sit at the table” - He said.
According to him, it is curiosity that, at the outset of the work on the peace formula, only the view presented by Ukraine was accepted. The politician stated that the proposals made by Beijing should have been considered and, above all, Russia should have been allowed to speak.
“Others besides presented peace plans which are no worse than the Ukrainian president. I asked to include another peace plans in the Council of Europe's resolution. Most of them rejected it. That's why I vetoed the resolution" – explained.
