Press conference before the European Commission Delegation in Warsaw, 4 December 2023. Conference attended by Deputy Marshal of the Sejm Krzysztof Bosak and representatives of carriers protesting on the Polish-Ukrainian border.
Krzysztof Bosak:
– present the Council of the European Union is gathering on transport matters. We are here due to the fact that the Confederation and the associations of carriers, protesters, are demanding that the Polish government make a request for the Council of the European Union for transport to terminate the Ukraine-European Union agreement. Contracts which have destabilised, entirely EU, and so besides Polish transport market. And it led to its gradual acquisition by Ukrainian carriers, eliminating the strategy of permits governing the previously common economical relations between Poland and Ukraine.
– We anticipate the Polish government to yet start representing Poles. Not any utopian global doctrine, not any transnational interests, but those who make national income in Poland. Those who make businesses in Poland, jobs.
– present the government of Mateusz Morawiecki has the last chance to show assertiveness. After more than a year of giving Polish interests. After many situations erstwhile he took a step back, he gave up Polish interests, he gave up Polish market.
– I want to say hello to everyone who's protesting at the border. It's been another week. shortly it will be possible to say that a period as borders are blocked in defence of their own interests by Polish entrepreneurs. It's an unprecedented mobilization that deserves praise. due to the fact that someone's yet moving to defend their interests.
