– The church is always on the side of man and nation – said Archbishop Wacław Depo, Metropolitan of Czestochowa, in a homily on Jasna Góra.
In the homily, Archbishop Wenceslaw Depo pointed out that our pilgrimage to Jasna Góra through the intercession of the Blessed Mary, parent and Queen of Poland is simply a large shorthand of the religion and past of our nation. Referring to the August anniversary of the heroic struggles of 1920 and the conflict of Warsaw, the martyrdom of Fr Maximilian Kolbe, the Warsaw Uprising or the “new hope” brought by the Polish Solidarity of the 1980s, he pointed out that these selected events were a good chance for us all to carry out a hard test of faith, love of God and Homeland.
– These anniversarys confirm to us solemnly and firmly that Poland is not just a dream, it is not just a beautiful dream, it is not a seasonal state, but a real reality – said Archbishop Depo. He recalled the diagnosis of the first Częstochowa Bishop Teodor Kubina, who observed that discord was a paralysis which, erstwhile touching the nation, deprives him of “the joy of life”. Further to Bishop Kubina, he emphasized the danger of the spirit of partyry, which includes not only politics, but even worse social, national, economic, cultural and even social life, paralyzing them. He pointed out the words of his predecessor on responsibility, due to the fact that the Polish people and the state besides have eternal goals in God." – This diagnosis of Bishop Kubina from the 1920s, after regaining independency and defence Fatherland fits our time. This is the mystery of the Church who is always on the side of man and nation – called Archbishop Depo.
Hierarcha besides recalled the thesis of the Krakow historical school from the 19th and 20th centuries, that the Republic of Poland lost 3 freedoms: “liberum veto”, “liberum mentiri” and “liberum infamare”. – The first is the freedom of veto, led to opposition by individuals to the law of the general individual seeking the common good, which would be the right of democracy. The second is the freedom of the media to deceive the full nation and the 3rd is the freedom of defamation, slander of individuals, or desecration of national holiness, and dishonor of all that is valuable, Polish and Catholic. We're in the mediate of winning or losing our freedom. Let's learn from this school, she's talking about today – said Archbishop Depo.
Recalling the mystery of the presumption of Mary and pointing to the Mystery female in Revelation chapter 12, the Metropolitan of Czestochowa recalled that parent Mary is simply a image of the Church, who, in a merciless fight against Satan on earth, gives birth to believers in Christ, gives birth to each and all 1 of us, inactive again. He emphasized that Mary is the first saved 1 belonging to Christ, the foreshadowing of what God wants to do for all his children, or to supply eternal life against the law of sin and death.
The Metropolitan of Częstochowa emphasized that the mystery of rapture along with Mary's body and soul to heaven, "calls us present pilgrims through the earth and under the law of death to look into eternity" and even deeper entrustment to God in everything and in all circumstances of our lives.
