1 August marks the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. On the eve of the anniversary at 6 p.m., the celebration of the half of the Holy Mass in Krasiński Square under the leadership of the field bishop will be traditionally held. Tomorrow, on 1 August at 5 p.m., or “W” hr reminding about the outbreak of the uprising, bells will sound in the churches of the Archdiocese of Warsaw in tribute to the fallen and surviving insurgents. As part of the 80th anniversary of the heroic revival of the capital's population, against the German occupier, many Masses will be celebrated, and interreligious prayer will be held, in which the Metropolitan of Warsaw Cardinals will participate. The bells that will sound in the churches of the Archdiocese of Warsaw at “W” will be a tribute to the fallen and surviving insurgents and residents of Warsaw who died in the fight for the freedom of the Homeland. Furthermore, the faithful will pray for the fallen in the Warsaw Uprising during the 1st August Mass and in the days preceding and following after the outbreak of the Uprising.
Today (31 July) at 6 p.m., the celebration of the half of the Holy Mass in Krasiński Square under the leadership of the Field Bishop will be traditionally held. The liturgy is attended annually by chaplains of the Field Ordinariat, uniformed services, scouts and scouts participating in the convention for the anniversary celebrations and clergymen of both Warsaw dioceses. The liturgy of the words is prepared by scouts and combatants and the military. After the Eucharist there will be an Appeal of Memory and a ceremony of laying flowers before the monument of the Warsaw Uprising.
Card. On Thursday 1 August at 5 p.m., Kazimierz Nycz will attend the ceremonies at the monument “Gloria Victis” at the Military Cemetery in Powązki.
Then at 6.30 p.m., the Warsaw metropolitan will participate in interreligious prayer at the monument of Polegli Niepokonanej at the Warsaw Insurrection Cemetery in Wola. After prayer, flowers will be laid on the Kurhana, which contains ashes of over 50,000 inhabitants of the capital and their insurgent army. At 8:00. Nycz will besides celebrate the Field Mass at the Warsaw Uprising Cemetery.
On 1 August at 10 a.m., it will be possible to participate in the Holy Mass in the intention of the fallen soldiers and the dead in the last year of members of the AK “Gustaw” and “Harnaś”. The Eucharist will be held in the basilica of the Holy Cross with the participation of the Insurgents, members of the Environment and banners of the AK Battalions “Gustaw” and “Harnaś” and the School No. 279 of the AK Battalions “Gustaw” and “Harnaś”.
3 August at 4:00 p.m. in St. Alexander's Church in 3 Square Crosses will be celebrated Mass for the fallen soldiers of the Home Army “Zelazna Reduta” and commander of the 3rd company of the Home Army “Chrobry II” Zbigniew Brym.
A day later, at 6 p.m., a mass commemorating the youngest soldiers of the Warsaw Uprising will be held in St Anthony's Church of Padua (Sentary 31 Street).
On 18 August at 1 p.m., it will be held in turn Holy Mass for the fallen soldiers of insurgent troops from Żoliborz and Starówka, as well as branches of the AK Group “Kampinos”. The Roman Catholic Parish of St. Stanislaus Kostka, 2 Hosius Street, invites you to prayer.
