UPA in Olsztyn Part 2
In a group of 22 members of the band of the band, which, at the end of December 1947, arrived from the Włodaw Forests to the area of Warmia and Mazur, there were real “veterans fighting” with defenseless Poles in the south-east of the Second Republic. - Karol Jurkowski was born on 16 January 1915 in the village of Usji Dolne. During the Second planet War, he was a Ukrainian police officer in the village of Choliczev. In June 1947 he joined SB Jasienia militia in the area of Tomaszów Lubelski County. Sentenced to death. conviction granted.
- Basil Prick. Saturday. During planet War II, associate of SS Galizien. After the war, he was a associate of SB “Autumn” territory III. - Roman NN, ps. Volodar. During planet War II, he was a Ukrainian police officer in Holshev. Soviatych region Włodaw. In the Lublin Voivodeship, he was a providnyk in the III OUN district. He was a associate of SB “Jasień”. While trying to halt him, he attempted suicide. He shot himself in the chin. He was taken to the hospital. He most likely died there.
- Titus aka Tipis ps. Bolek. In the Lublin region, the deputy providnyka BSB ‘Jasienia’. He managed to flee to the American business region of Germany. In August 1949, he was transferred to Poland as a associate of a four-man OUN-Bandery militia, serving as a courier for the OUN-Bander network. In 1952, he returned to Germany to return to Poland in 1957.

The above examples clearly show that the continued activity of the UPA band in the north-eastern Poland was not an accident. Despite limiting the ability to operate by cutting off supplies, information and the anticipation of grinding, as happened before the Vistula Military Operation in south-eastern Poland, the survivors of the UPA band continued to carry out hostile activities aimed at the Polish nation.
