– 21 years ago, a referendum on accession to the European Union took place in Poland. In this referendum, national activists, nationalists, i.e. representatives of this environment that I represent, convinced Poles that after entering the European Union, the Union will not halt at what it has written in the treaties, that it will seize further attributes of Polish sovereignty. All those predictions, then ridiculed by the people who are in the government today, unfortunately worked out.
What, on the another hand, did the nationalists not foretell 20 years ago? It's a process that's even more dangerous, even more dangerous, and now we're watching with our own eyes. The process of how the European Union from a German policy tool, from a German or French national interest tool, becomes a fanatical organization with a large sacred purpose.
