It's saving the image, not acting to improve the situation in sports

We gotta halt the deficiency of work of sports unions for how they spend public funds, money from our taxes! Dear Minister of Sport, the problem with the current situation is that, unfortunately, within the framework of your competences and powers you can only "please" and the Sports Union may not even answer this "request" and not, as you compose in your letter, explain anything. You don't have any legal tools as Minister of athletics for that.

Pursuant to Article 16 of the athletics Act, the Ministry of athletics may carry out checks on the scope of the activity of the Polish sports union in terms of compliance with the laws, statutes and regulations of that association. No bill, statute or rules indicate who should go to the IO or any another event, and who should not, how long should the grouping or where the delegates of the sports union be accommodated.

The Ministry of athletics not only does not have the legal instruments to carry out the checks referred to in the letters and, moreover, has no competence to challenge specified or another decisions of the authorities of the sports union concerned.

What I see is an effort to media rescue the image, not real actions to improve the situation in Polish sport. The Sports Act is holes (as can be seen from this example), and the Associations Law, in which the Sports Unions move, has not been written for the intent of regulating the structures and works of organisations comprising tens of thousands of people, with multi-million-dollar budgets, which present leads to the fact that, despite the multi-million-dollar support from the SSP and the Treasury, sports unions – completely lege artis – have these resources in full freedom and the only condition for determining the correctness of their spending is to be allocated to the general statutory objectives.

I propose to launch a substantive and substantive debate on changes in Polish sport. Writing letters with “requests” will not change much. We request to change the bill at the point age.

We gotta end the deficiency of work of sports unions for how they spend public funds, money from our taxes!
