Polish right openly plays racist card

It seemed that the end of the European elections would calm down a bit. That even if due to the situation in the east the cucumber period and information about Sosnowski's borscht will not return, at least in Polish politics for any time the biggest problem will be coming out at night on the roof of MP Matecki. No hope! On the weekend on the X portal, we had a real detonation of racist content, besides filmed by Members of Sovereign Poland – mentioned Matecki.

It's racism, not a vote on migration.

It all started with photos groups of black people at the bus halt in Białowieża, which appeared on the profile of Service in Action on portal X. According to the authors of the entry, they were approached by the chieftain of Czerlonka in the municipality of Białowieża, asking for “the subject to be publicised”: “Practically all day, most of the day the immigrants who managed to illegally cross the border sit at the bus stop. People are afraid to go out on the streets at night and due to the fact that the bus halt is inactive occupied children are afraid to stand there to get their school bus.”

To the case He's made his point. erstwhile head of MSW Mariusz Błaszczak, making the atmosphere even more intense: “Very disturbing reports from Białowieża. Residents are alarmed about the accumulation of illegal migrants, mostly young men who have benefited from the aid of 1 of the organizations that have been obstructing the service of soldiers and border guards for years. On the another hand, in the west of Poland there are more and more reports of pushing the border of migrants in Germany. Is anyone else in control?’ As it turned out, people in the photograph waited at the halt for the Border defender to take them to a closed centre – all within the appropriate procedures. So no 1 occupied the halt – it is hard to realize why anyone would do it, especially illegal migrants hiding from Polish services. Bus stops have it in common that they are not places where they can easy hide.

The X portal, however, flooded photos from all over Poland, including from places as far from the border with Belarus as Wrocław, depicting photographs taken from hiding to people with black skin. People in the pictures do nothing unusual: they stand on the lights or walk on the sidewalk. However, the images and entries are panicking, and their speech is clear: “They are here! The invasion has begun! Is the government in control?!” As it turns out, all it takes is simply a image of black people acting calmly on the streets, so that the Polish right-wing X reacts as if the script described in Camp of the Saints – The iconic for the far right of the novel, depicting as defenceless, decadent and incapable to defend France conquers a wave of migration from South Asia.

Let us be clear: specified entries have nothing to do with any debate on border safety or migration policy. They're just racist. Black people are presented in them as a threat to the safety of Poland and Poles only due to the colour of the skin. It is not known who are presented in the pictures, who can stay legally in Poland, who can come here to work or to study, who can be tourists, citizens of 1 of the European Union countries, who benefit from freedom of movement or – and this option cannot be excluded – citizens of Poland.

The general message from entries appearing massively on the X portal was that black people do not have the right to reside freely in the Polish public space. Their presence is already suspicious.

Racist language enters mainstream

Half of the poorness if racist content were mainly given anonymous accounts, at least in part operated in any troll farm close St. Petersburg. It is even worse that Members of the Sejm are active in a akin panic, and they are sitting in the parliamentary club of the largest opposition party.

Janusz Kowalski uploaded to his X account photograph depicting a group of young black men, possibly even teenagers, walking quietly down the Polish street against the background of a package signed: “This is not funny. This is the future of Donald Tusk, Rafał Trzaskowski and Szymon Hołownia. Polish women will be molested on Polish streets. After dark, Poles will be afraid to go outside. Crime will rise. Machete attacks will become common. It has begun.”

His clubmate Dariusz Matecki posted any pictures of black or Asian people on the streets Szczecin with comment: “The invasion is ongoing. The very center of Szczecin. The Goleni look similar. In the last fewer months, the number of migrants from Africa and Asia in Western Pomerania has increased dramatically."

Racist language – due to the fact that the link between a photograph of black teenagers walking down the street and machetes attacks and sexual force against women is pure racist movie – so it enters the mainstream of the Polish right.

Not only politicians representing the utmost wing of PiS or Sovereign Poland do this. On electoral Sunday, Mr Waldemar Buda made the video available – twitt has already disappeared from his account – where you can see the riots of a group of black people with the signature "Jagodno today". Let us remind that Buda is regarded as a typical of the “moderate”, “technocratic” faction of PiS associated with Prime Minister Morawiecki. The entry did not prevent Buda from choosing a Euro MP.

Right-wing politicians are increasingly openly sending a signal to the right-wing electorate: "You can already say that in Poland we just don't want black". Do Members realise what emotions their rhetoric can make? That it could yet end in force against black people? In this regard, Polish citizens with a different colour than white skin. Will they take work erstwhile individual learns applicable lessons from their rhetoric?

Someone should react

Such a language should have a strong consequence from the remainder of the political class and the applicable bodies of the Sejm. What Buda, Kowalski, Matecki did should be dealt with even by the committee of parliamentary ethics. For walking on the roof Matecki can get up to respective 1000 penalties – for racist entries the punishment should be greater, due to the fact that this is besides the social harm of specified a act.

In consequence to the expansion on the X portal, he responded Donald Tusk“So again. They brought thousands of migrants from Asia and Africa (while earning visas) and Russian and Belarusian “informaticians” to aid build a abroad agency. They want to cover it with racist propaganda. They number on the short memory and strength of their scream."

Fearing “Belarusian IT professionals” who first do useful work here, and secondly are frequently victims of the Lukashenko regime, is truly not a good consequence to racist uplift. Instead, I would like to hear from the Prime Minister that in the Polish public space 1 can stay calmly regardless of the colour of the skin, that no 1 has the right to stigmatize, dehumanize or photograph anyone without consent just due to the fact that the individual is black, that people from Africa or Asia studying and working in Poland can number on full protection of the state. Finally, raising racial panic is the accomplishment of the goals of the Russian hybrid war.

I realize why, for political reasons, Tusk might have problem making specified a statement, which would seem obvious. But possibly at least the left might have a voice in this matter? Preferably in the form of an appropriate parliamentary resolution, which separates from racist hysteria, and which emphasizes the problem of border protection? To the voice of an electorate frightened of a “great replacement”, the left inactive has no hope, so it is worth to behave decently.
