No food, no drinking water, no access to wellness care. This is how civilians now live in Palestinian Rafah, the last unpacified by the judaic forces of the city of autonomy.

“People have nothing to eat, they deficiency water to drink and hygiene, and garbage and sewage gather in the streets. In these conditions, more than 1 million people live present – men, women and children – forcedly displaced from the northern part of the Gaza Strip," said Draginja Nadażdin, manager of Doctors without Borders in Poland. In her opinion, "the large-scale offensive of Israel's troops would be an unimaginable disaster". Doctors without Borders are calling for an immediate ceasefire.

The study states that 2 medical care centres in Al-Shabour and Al-Mawasi, run by the organization, receive an average of 5,000 patients per week.

The doctors say that most people come with problems that affect inhuman surviving conditions. As much as 40% of the available medical advice concerns advanced respiratory disease. Medics besides observe more cases of jaundice. According to the last 4th of 2023, in the first 3 months of the conflict in Gaza, “the number of cases of diarrhoea among children under the age of 5 was 25 times higher than in the same period in 2022.”

The study indicates that cases of acute malnutrition had not previously occurred – from January to March 2024 216 children under the age of 5 were sent to hospitals in this state.

Due to overburdening patients with injuries, chronically sick and pregnant women with complications, they frequently cannot receive appropriate care.

It is estimated that 50,000 pregnant women are presently in Gaza. Around 180 births happen all day. At El Emirates Hospital, where the organization supports the maternity ward, nearly 100 births are admitted daily, or 5 times more than before the war.

The study stresses that many patients suffering from hypertension, diabetes, asthma, epilepsy and cancer are not receiving the right aid due to the fact that access to diagnostics and specialised equipment and medicines is limited or impossible. As reported in the report, about 350 000 people in Gaza were suffering from chronic diseases.

Doctors without Borders besides study on the worsening intellectual wellness crisis of the Gaza population. Many people have symptoms associated with anxiety and stress, including psychosomatic and depressive states. "Some household members with serious intellectual disorders usage excessive sedatives. In this way they want to guarantee their safety and prevent harm to themselves or others," the study says.

According to UN data, out of the 36 hospitals in the Gaza Strip, only 10 are "as functional as possible". So far there are besides only 20 primary wellness care facilities out of 80 that have functioned before.

The study published by doctors without Borders was based on medical data and patient certificates.
