The National wellness Fund introduced changes in its financial plan for 2025. The corrections included 4 provincial troops: Łódź, Mazowieckie, Warmian-Masurian and Wielkopolska. Outstanding commitments from last year increased by another PLN 6.2 billion and so not adequate to keep the current level of performance of benefits. As a result, funds for specialist care, infirmary treatment and reimbursement were reduced. Estimatedthat only this year there can be 15 billion PLN.
The NFZ sinks in debt and cuts the backing of hospitals. As part of the 5 financial corrections carried out, funds for outpatient specialist care were reduced by PLN 193.8 million – from almost PLN 16.6 billion to about PLN 16.4 billion. For infirmary treatment, PLN 434.6 million little – from PLN 97.3 billion to PLN 96.8 billion. In the case of refunds, there was a simplification of PLN 3.2 million, which means a full of over PLN 10.8 billion.
However, the biggest stir among experts caused the 5th change – an increase in the cost of healthcare services from erstwhile years by over PLN 631.5 million. As a result, the full amount included in the plan increased from PLN 5.5 billion to nearly PLN 6.2 billion.
– We've never entered a fresh year with this large baggage from the erstwhile year. That's 24 times more than in 2023. As a result, we are starting to finance last year's commitments from this year's money, which means we are indebted to future periods said Wojciech Wiśniewski from the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs. It is estimated that only this year there can be 15 billion PLN.
It is easy to announcement that the National wellness Fund is facing serious financial problems that may lead to a collapse of the wellness strategy in Poland. The crisis has been going on for years, but has accelerated importantly in 2020, first thanks to pseudo-pandemic and then the massive influx of Ukrainians, who were treated for free, at the expense of Poles, at the same time extending queues to specialists. Currently, the number of patients awaiting a cardiologist visit has increased by 60%. In another specialities, the queues increased by up to 70%.
The treatment of 2 nations by 1 wellness care strategy leads to the killing of Poles on a massive scale. In many cases, diseases could be cured if they were detected earlier. This does not happen, among others, by Ukrainians who usage our strategy to treat themselves at a higher level than they could number in their own country. Free care is besides taken by mass-mails from Belarus and Germany. Both groups are frequently sick with long-term diseases in Poland, whose encapsulations, doctors request to learn again. They besides bring HIV to our country.
Another bad news for patients is that the number of medics withdrawing from work in state facilities is increasing. all year less and less doctors and dentists supply services to NFZ as part of individual practices. They are deterred by complicated bureaucracy and low wages. The most practices were lost in dentistry – in six years all 3rd dental activity with a contract with NFZ disappeared.
