He headed the Polish National Committee established in Lausanne on 15 August 1917, which became a political representation of the Polish case in the West.

The biggest accomplishment and at the same time the culmination of Roman Dmowski's independency way were effective and professional treatments for Polish borders at the peace conference in Paris, where he and Ignacy Jan Paderewski represented Poland among the 27 winning countries participating in it. He was celebrated for his eloquent speeches and accruals on Polish borders. His celebrated five-hour speech on January 29, 1919, before the Council of Ten, consisting of the most crucial politicians of the planet at the time, was passed to history.

On 28 June 1919, Roman Dmowski, together with Ignacy Jan Paderewski, signed under the Treaty of Versailles restoring Poland to a map of Europe. This event, entering a long way leading to the inclusion of Poles in the free nations of Europe, will always stay a clear point of our history.
