Madonna's performance was held at the National Stadium in Warsaw on 1 August 2012. In view of the date, which in Poland is especially cultivated, the choice of the artist caused utmost emotions. The event was perceived as provocation, deficiency of sense of the minute and yet deficiency of respect for the Warsaw Uprising. Most Poles shared this opinion and since then akin events on the anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising neither the central or local authorities dared to repeat themselves.
The originator of the artistic misunderstanding that took place in 2012 was the then “minister” of the athletics Joanna Mucha, possibly the most disgraceful minister in the past of this ministry. It was besides rapidly revealed that the performance cost taxpayers nearly PLN 6 million, and then it came to the news that this money was spent incorrectly. Finally, in 2022 the territory Attorney's Office in Warsaw decided to impose Joannie I must charges of exceeding the powers, i.e. violation of Art. 231 k.k. The press release issued by the prosecutor’s office included specified a passage:
As a sports minister, Joanna Mucha approved payment for the organization of the performance of over PLN 5.9 million from the peculiar intent reserve of the resort. Although it was intended to advance athletics among children and young people and tasks related to the Euro 2012 European Football Championships. She made specified a decision, although legally the funds from the special-purpose reserve could only be spent for the intent set out in the reserve, and it was not for the Minister of athletics and Tourism to organise concerts of amusement music.
At the same time, Elizabeth Witek of the Law and Justice Office was the Marshal of the Sejm, and at that time, a motion was received to waive immunity. Why the immunity was not lifted, although the United Right in the Sejm had a majority and a Marshal, it most likely only knows the Law and Justice or doesn't know. As a result, the proposal was not voted on until 18 September 2024, but the consequence of the vote has nothing to do with "Justice terrorism". The parliamentary majority, concentrated under the name of the ‘coalition on 13 December’, did not waive the immunity of its companion.
Experienced observers of the Polish political scene should not be surprised, but nevertheless the arrogance of power is impressive. Just a fewer moments earlier, the same Sejm waived the immunity of Members of the Council, Mr Wosia and Mr Romanowski, on the basis of charges under the same Article 231 k.k. The difference is that Mr Romanowski is to be liable for the transfer of public funds to the Circles of agrarian Housewives and the TSO, while Mr Woś purchased Pegasus software to prosecute criminals.
How do ruling coalition politicians explain their hypocritical and arrogant behavior? Most of them do not explain at all, in turn those who spoke had nothing wise to say and focused on the message of the day: “This is simply a political matter”. The sense of impunity in those who shouted advanced standards a year ago at rallies is increasing at an astronomical rateBut before you go down, it's harder to dig. specified images fall into the memory of the voter, due to the fact that before that they sting painfully in the eyes and ears.
