Andrij Melnyk was appointed Deputy Minister of abroad Affairs of Ukraine. This is simply a controversial decision given the pro-Bander and anti-Polish statements of this policy. The representatives of the Confederates organised a press conference on this issue in a parliament where they expressed their discontent with this nomination. “
Confederate MP Krystian Kamiński, who represents this group in the Committee on abroad Affairs, said that Andrij Melnyk is an anti-Polish politician and should never be appointed Deputy Head of the Ukrainian MFA. “Melnyk is an openly anti-Polish politician. We think it's a slap for the Polish state. Ukraine should pay attention to how it behaves towards us.”
“According to Andrij Melnyk, the fresh deputy minister of abroad Ukraine, the flag was a hero.” added the MP.
Confederate representatives rapidly began commenting on Melnyk's election as vice-president of the Ukrainian MFA. On Twitter, comments from the curious individual himself, who ridiculed criticism at his address and allegations of pro-Bander views, appeared.
The Confederacy wants a subjective relation with Ukraine.
Politicians reminded that in the Confederacy Programme “On the Side of Poland”, the group advocated maintaining partnership and subjective relations with Ukraine. The condition for this is the assertive attitude of the Polish government towards the authorities in Kiev and clear articulate their own needs. “We have always stressed the request to build partnerships with Ukraine on a subjective alternatively than a subject basis.” – said Witold Stoch. “A vital point of Polish-Ukrainian relations is historical politics. Ukraine should reject the cult of Stepan Bandera and recognise the Volyn massacre as genocide.”
