Szlezak: Is there specified a thing as Polish capitalism?

I think so. It would be worth describing. For now, I'm besides poorly prepared for this, but I can present any crucial thoughts now. A good field of reflection for this is what happens in the economy of Podkarpackie voivodship.

The word “Polish capitalism” can be misleading. We should most likely agree if we specify the economical strategy in the area now referred to as Poland. This is misleading by the word "capitalism" due to the fact that Polish private capital is weak. The essence of Polish capitalism is determined by capital of large and large abroad corporations and capital of large state-owned enterprises. I will make a bold argument that in both cases this capital does not primarily build the strength of the Polish state. In the case of abroad corporations, it can be said that we are dealing with a drastic disparity between what these corporations in Poland are gaining and what they are gaining and more losing, their Polish workers, and mainly the Polish state. This can be seen from the example of the government's resignation from taxation collection from American corporations in the IT industry.

On the another hand, large companies of the state Treasury, is the habitat of organization interests, the origin of immense income of organization denominations on boards and supervisory boards, and submission to political decisions, frequently contrary to economical principles. The current governments of the Law and Justice besides show that the management of state-owned companies is the origin of many pathologies.

And now back to the situation in Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The Heineken Company decided to end the beer production in a brewery in Leczyjsk. It is simply a sad fact and most likely painful for Leżajska, but on the voivodship scale it is more propaganda than economic. “Leżajsk” beer is simply a recognizable brand in Poland. However, this brand is privately owned and the owner has the right to do with it what he thinks, even if it does not like the local community. In this case, however, opposition, political opposition, was raised. I dare say that its causes are more political than economic. As always a resident of Stalowa Wola, I will remind you that besides a recognizable construction device brand in Poland from Stalowa Wola was sold to Chinese and this brand disappeared respective years ago. We had advanced hopes for the Chinese company in Stalowa Wola, but it did not end well. Neither then nor now politicians have protested or protested any option.

The tearing of the robes on the occasion of the brewing in Leżajsk must be considered primarily a political demonstration which is explained by the forthcoming parliamentary elections. Politicians who protest Heineken's decision can't help. There is no specified force in Poland that would force a strong Western corp to deal with the voice of the local community. In the end, the European Union or 1 of the Union's stronger states will shake its finger and the government and local authorities will humbly comply with the will of these forces. If any action in this case makes sense, then think about legal, economical and political rules that let abroad corporations to do what they like, which sometimes has nothing to do with free marketplace rules. This is how global corporations operate, and with their expansion they become enemies of free marketplace and competition. In specified a situation, a protest by politicians, especially those from the Law and Justice, is simply a pure political benefit. It is known that nothing will change, so there will be no request to take work for anything, and it will be easy to win the applause of voters.

At the same time as the problem in Rzeżajsk, at the other end of Sanoku Voivodeship, the company with a 2 hundred-year tradition and a more crucial economical importance than the lying brewery. I mean Sanotsky “Autosan”. This company, which had already fallen, wanted to save the PiS government, so it was nationalized and incorporated into the organisational structures of Huta Stalowa Wola. In this case, the shortcomings of the state, as owner and manager of the economy, have become apparent. We gotta ask ourselves what the conventional bus maker and artillery equipment maker had in common. Even if they had something, for HSW “Autosan” turned out to be the 5th wheel at the car. It is likely that "Autosan" can no longer be saved, although specified chances were. Interestingly, in HSW, they won't cry about it. In this case, it was more essential and I think there is any political intervention.

The inclusion of ‘Autosan’ in the HSW structure was a purely political decision, without deeper economical justification. How the vast majority of specified decisions could not have ended well. "Autosan" is now a hot potato, so nobody – especially from the ruling organization – wants to burn their fingers. In the face of elections, more can be politically lost. ‘Autosan’ requires a decision for which work must be taken. In addition, Polish politics tend to deficiency volunteers. So will this well-deserved and needed Polish economy die? If you look at the mechanisms of Polish state capitalism, unfortunately there is no saving for it. besides bad.
