Wojciech Szczęsny, legendary goalkeeper of the Polish team, decided to end his football career. However, the message is rather surprising, given his age (34 years) as a goalkeeper, however.
Especially since we are talking about a golkiper who has just left top Juventus Turin, and rather late he has played at the (deprived) European championships. It's been a small over a year and a half since he defended Leo Messi's punishment kick at the community, and here, please, there will be no Spanish or even Qatar League. My career's over.
However hard it is to deny fortunate goaltender skills, however, for both sporting and non-sporting reasons, 1 should not overdo it. The goalkeepers of Poland stand. Unlike the left defender, here we have had far besides much prominence for years. possibly with a short break at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, erstwhile Józef Wandzik defended little successful Polish colours, but erstwhile we look at the goalkeepers of the representation since the golden 1970s (and even earlier!), until today, the competition of Szczęsny has a large one. Szymkowiak, Sheja, Tomaszewski, Młynarczyk, Matysek, Dudek, Boruc, Fabianski, but in the meantime besides Kukla, Mowlik, Kostrzewa, Bako, Sidorczuk, Kuszczak, Tyton, Kowalewski, Majdan... There's something to choose from, and I've most likely left out a fewer of the most notable ones. In general, if there were 11 goalkeepers in the football field, we could win tournaments.
In front of them, Happy again doesn't look so great. Tomaszewski won silver on the mundial, Młynarczyk besides won the Champions League. Dudek? Similarly, the Champions League and an honorary circular in Real Madrid. Boruc became legend of the Legion of Warsaw and Celtic Glasgow. What about Lucky? A fewer years he was a supporter of Juventus, won a scudetto, but that's beautiful much it. There was more of him somewhere else, like right now. Even at Euro 2016 between the posts Fabianski defended us, not Lucky, due to the fact that this long had just bad luck for tournaments.
However, what distinguishes him from competitors is an extra-sport attitude. Wojciech Szczęsny clearly couldn't handle it. The farther into the forest, the worse. This is against appearances very crucial due to the fact that notable athletes, whether they want it or not, have a social function. They become authorities for young people and young people imitate them, gain values from them, way of being, relationships with another people. It was a happy thing to get distant with all this, due to the fact that we have “journalists”, too, but it has truly been a counterexample of how a sports star should behave in fresh years.
And it is not that there are "other times." Kuba Błaszczykowski was able to tell with humility about his life, appreciate another competitions, and spare money to save his beloved club. He may have had weaker moments like with tickets to Euro 2012 or favouring Uncle Brzęczka in Wisła Kraków, but it was all human.
There's been a lot about Wojtek Szczęsny in fresh years. all time it was known what kind of car he came to the group, where he went on vacation with singer/wife Marina Łuchenko, and we were just wondering what he would tell the next time or even Buracky and which journalist. The celebrated dispute with ed. Sergius Ryczel, erstwhile he first spins his nose that he has "free time", interferes with his word, and yet accuses him of inconsistency by opposing himself as 1 who "dos what he does and does better" – it is not something that we would anticipate from the idol of young people. And it's not even a meritum, it's a terrible style. The arrogance he presented then and later. besides erstwhile he put the PZPN on his head and risked participating in the Mundial erstwhile he demanded (as who?!) the exclusion of Russia from the barracks for the tournament.
How different it is from Luke Fabianski, with whom London Szczęsny started in Arsenal. Fabianski, who was not a worse goalkeeper, and whom we remember only from fantastic parades or authentic emotion erstwhile he said goodbye to Poland's representation. An authentic professional who did not request media fooling to make a brand of large goalkeeper.
And fortunately, that talented golkipers in Poland are not missing, due to the fact that we will be able to rapidly forget about these poodles of Lucky.
