“Symbol of dominance, independency and control” means a car as an oppressive tool of the patriarchate

The fresh left-wing crusade has just entered the public debate. This time, the “progressive” ideologists' sights became... a car.

Yeah, you read well. Not the interior combustion engine, not the traffic, not the roads in bad condition – just the very existence of the car as a ‘patriarchate tool’. At least that's what Boris von Heesen, a self-appointed ‘man advisor’ who interviewed Der Spiegel He discovered a fresh front to fight toxic manhood: traffic.

According to von Heesen, the car is simply a "symbol of dominance, independency and control" – that is, everything that should be demolished in the name of progress. And since men drive more often, they origin accidents more often, they drive faster and more, that means it's time to stop. With the men behind the wheel, of course.

No, it's not a parody. Von Heesen seriously calls for "the sex to be included in mobility planning" by explaining that cities should be designed more "for women", that is, around pedestrians, bicycles and public transport. Men's way: no parking, no space to drive, no comfort. due to the fact that all related to the car, in his opinion, is the effect of the "culture of male dominance".

Moving on, he besides claims that men do not drive a car due to the fact that they have to, just due to the fact that They want to – and that is the problem. In his world, the decision to get into a car and go wherever you want is simply a manifestation of selfishness and social harm. After all, a real citizen (read: a woman, possibly a man after brainwashing) should usage a bicycle, a tram or – preferably – sit at home.

Von Heesen juggles statistic with a typical left-wing consequence to show that men are liable for almost everything: traffic jams, CO2 emissions, and traffic noise. Their presence on the roads is simply a systemic problem – and only extremist reconstruction of the city, transport and man himself can remedy this.

Which is what? A sex driving ban? punishment points for having a car with an engine bigger than a mixer? Weekend training with empathy and driving without ambition?

The fact is, a car is not a symbol of a patriarchy, it's a symbol of freedom. It allows you to decide for yourself, without the grace of the state, without waiting for a late bus and without pushing yourself into ideological pistons. And that's why the car bothers people like von Heesen. due to the fact that it can't be completely controlled.

The same people who have despised men for years now want to "redesign" them as humble pedestrians, standing meekly on red, so as not to offend the city planner. The problem is that many of us inactive like to be a driver than a passenger – besides in life.

And we're not going to return the keys.
