Position of the Volyn Foundation We remember
On behalf of the victims, witnesses and families of the most brutally murdered Poles in Volyn, we request the Polish authorities to halt dialog with Ukraine, concerning the "fixing" of the question of exhumations murdered by Ukrainians of Poles in exchange for renewing the commemoration of Ukrainian genocide killers on Polish soil. The talks that have been going on at state level for any time have no support in the Polish people. Nobody in their right head can imagine that the price for carrying out the exhumation is simply a glorifocation in the territory of the Republic of Poland of the murderers of the Polish nation! We do not give the right or consent to desecrate the bones of Polish martyrs again, dumping the remains in bulk to nameless graves without a worthy funeral, without commemoration, without information on who murdered these victims. Poland has the right to exhume its citizens in accordance with all moral and ethical principles. Poland has the right to exhume carried out by Poles and on Polish conditions.
A country building its identity on a criminal flag ideology should not be talked on a partnership basis, in no case is there any mention of relationship where murderers and genocide killers are placed on pedestals of glory. No 1 has the illusion that Ukraine, the state of the bander, will not let the commemorative Polish victims of genocidal killings, who are now the foundation of this country, and so Poland should request Ukraine to condemn the genocidal killers liable for the slaughter of Polish children, women and aged people in Volyn and east Małopolska in return for the financial, material and military aid. Only if Ukraine is admitted to genocide on the Polish nation, punishing inactive surviving perpetrators and condemning the ideology of the bander can the Polish side request an exhumation from Ukraine, which should be carried out only by the Polish side. Poles now have a breakthrough on this subject. There is no breakthrough and there will be no breakthrough and you know it. The head of the Ukrainian IPN clearly stated that Ukraine would examine, find the burial sites and the circumstances of the deaths of the victims of this tragedy, and then carry out exhumations to which it could exceptionally invitation Poles, only as observers! This is simply a disgrace! And agreeing to specified degrading treatment of the case, they act contrary to Polish duties, duties and interests. We Poles reading the words of Ukrainian politics cannot believe that the Polish government is expected to represent Polish interests – it is going towards specified humiliation of the Polish nation.
We remind the Polish people that the Polish ambassador to Ukraine Mr Piotr Łukasiewicz should represent our interests, not at all costs, towards relationship between the nations on the bones of murdered Poles. His last shameful interview indicates that Mr. Łukasiewicz has forgotten what kind of nation he is in Ukraine. Mr Łukasiewicz expressed his satisfaction with the Polish-Ukrainian talks about the exhumation, claiming that we should be happy with the consent to the exhumation without commemorating the victims, or without signs indicating who is buried in the grave and by whom he was murdered. He explains that Ukraine is not yet ready to measurement the subject. We are not curious in the feelings of the Ukrainians in this matter, due to the fact that we are Poles and we only care about the Polish interest. Of course, the issue of commemorations will never be resolved due to the fact that the Ukrainians themselves stated that
possible exhumations will proceed in accordance with Ukrainian legislation, i.e. the 2015 Act ” on the legal position and commemoration of fighters for independency of Ukraine in the 20th century”, which glorifies Ukrainian people-killers of Poles.
In addition, we feel ashamed of Ukraine's request to renew on Polish dirt all Ukrainian frequently placed illegally commemorations of Poles' murderers. We are outraged by Mr. Paul the Blacksmith's eager steps
About that! We Poles do not let the commemoration of not Ukrainian genocide killers in Poland in exchange for “exhumations” of Polish victims of these genocide killers. The Ukrainian side has already desecrated Polish victims once, emptying flooded wells, after the Polish IPN provided maps with wells to which Ukrainian neighbors were throwing their Polish neighbours alive.
We request that talks with the Ukrainian side be discontinued without agreeing to the exhumation of Polish victims on Ukrainian terms! Conversations with Ukrainians must be conducted on the basis of demands, especially in the face of the invaluable assistance that Ukrainians experienced from the Polish nation.
