Does public activity of prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek inspire public assurance in the context of conducting independent proceedings, including concerning Jarosław Kaczyński and the alleged affair of 2 towers? The latest United Surveys poll for Virtual Poland shows that the opinions of Poles are clearly divided – and powerfully dependent on political sympathy.
The survey participants were asked if they thought public activity and media statements prok. Ewa Herzosek guarantees an impartial investigation. 33.5% of respondents responded positively – 16.7 percent of them indicated the consequence “yes” and 16.8 percent of them said “yes”. The different conviction was 34.1 percent of respondents – of which 18.4% chose “not”, and 15.7 percent – “not decisively”.
Importantly, as many as 32.4 percent of respondents had no opinion on this issue. It is simply a clear signal that trust in the prosecutor's office – regardless of the individual – remains an ambiguous and controversial issue in Poland.
Wp.pl portal emphasizes that the top scepticism towards the independency of procs. The heath is expressed by persons not associated with any political group. In this group, only 18 percent assessed her activity positively, 28 percent felt that she did not warrant independence, and as much as 44 percent could not clearly measure the situation.
Among the voters of the ruling groups (Citizen's Coalition, Left, Poland 2050, PSL) trust towards the prosecutor declares a full of 58 percent of respondents. In turn, among opposition sympathizers (PiS, Confederacy) 55 percent of respondents express a deficiency of trust.
The survey was conducted by United Surveys by CATI & CAWI (phone and net interviews) on a typical group of 1,000 adults of Poles on 21–23 March
The case of D.A. Ewa Wrzosek continues to make strong emotions, both in the political and social environment. Especially since there is simply a parallel discussion about the disclosure of individual data, which besides affected her and another people from the environment of the Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar. Experts point out that the question of the credibility of investigators in politically delicate matters will be 1 of the key tests for the independency of the prosecution in the coming months.
