How bad and mean it takes to be human these days The Warsaw Uprising is contemptible to call ,,,a Warsaw adventure" ... After all, this was the largest armed independency spur in the occupied countries of Europe! At the same time, it was the largest conflict fought during planet War II by an underground organization with business troops!... Anyone who acts like this is highly mean!... Why don't you paint Stalin's tongue... After all, on 16 August 1944 Stalin sent an acutely-held message to Churchill, in which (quoting virtually behind Wikipedia) he stated that [The Warsaw Uprising is simply a ‘nonsensical, frightening brawl’, from which russian command must ‘strange’, due to the fact that it cannot take on any direct or indirect work for it]. In order to compose about the Warsaw Uprising in this way today, 1 needs to be an exceptionally mean or uniquely limited person...
When on the circular eightyth anniversary of the detonation The Warsaw Uprising I looked at the net not a tiny shock to me how easy it was for many anonymous net users to insult Warsaw insurgents...
In addition to anonymous net users, many bloggers or publicists on the 80th anniversary of the outbreak The Warsaw Uprising openly stated that ,,the heroism of Poles was wasted, meaningless, stupid, naive and unnecessary" that ,the Polish commanders making the decision to launch the uprising were politically inept idiots" and many another akin offensive comments about the heroic Warsaw insurgents ... individual might say it's just online trolls that aren't worth caring about, but I think the problem is much deeper...
In my opinion, in this very harmful social phenomenon 2 problems overlap...
The first is that in modern Polish society the stereotypical thought of the Warsaw Uprising is being repented, in which teenage unarmed insurgents were meekly led to the slaughter of all the incompetent commanders in the improbable successful storms on the reinforced German positions and bunkers, all of which, without exception, ended in disproportionate losses and the complete bleeding of unarmed teenage insurgent troops...
The second is that in the full Polish society there is presently deficiency of cognition about how many bravado successes in the fight against German forces were experienced during the Warsaw Uprising by the "Kampinos" group...
In my opinion, the 3rd problem is much bigger than the erstwhile one, and it is simply a sad fact that the average Pole cannot successfully assert the uniqueness of the Warsaw Uprising against the background of the ongoing Paris Uprising and the Slovak national uprising, as well as the later 1 year of the Prague Uprising...
The Paris Uprising and the Slovak national uprising took place in parallel with the Warsaw Uprising! Unfortunately, out of all 3 this Warsaw Uprising is most likely the most spat...
Apart from the fact that the majority of contemporary Poles cannot tell at all what the Slovak national uprising and the Paris Uprising were... In my opinion, these stereotypical notions about the Warsaw Uprising, the deficiency of cognition about the bravado successes of the "Kampinos" group in the fight against German forces, the inability of the average Pole to assert the uniqueness of the Warsaw Uprising against the background of the Paris Uprising or the Prague Uprising, mostly contribute to how easy many anonymous net users or bloggers come present to offend Warsaw insurgents...
Many anonymous net users then resented my patriotic feelings... I rapidly came to the conclusion that I had to protest against these peculiar entries somehow, otherwise it would mean my silent acceptance... That's how the thought of writing this extended text...
Another impulse to compose this text was the coming large steps on 29 August 2024, erstwhile we will celebrate the circular eighty-year anniversary of the outbreak of the Slovak national uprising, 1 of the most crucial anti-fascist speeches in the past of planet War II and the circular eighty-year anniversary of the conflict of Kissinne, 1 of the biggest victories of the "Kampinos" Group...
One of the most crucial anti-fascist speeches in the past of planet War II...
One of the biggest victories of the "Kampinos" Group...
Both of these large historical events bind the invisible but inexhaustible thread together on 29 August 1994.
Although I am only a simple passionateist of history, I dare to compose here that I respect Slovaks enormously for the Slovak national uprising (August 29 to October 28, 1944) and I respect the Czechs enormously for the May Uprising of the Czech people (May 1 to May 11, 1945). The past of the planet in its grand course made the ancient winds of the Western nations Slavics took upon themselves the peculiar burden of fighting the German aggressor and the occupier, giving these contemporary large reasons for national pride...
I believe that in the face of loud attempts to falsify Polish history, as Poles we owe peculiar respect to Warsaw insurgents. True, many publications have been multiplied in fresh years to depreciate their efforts, but their heroism will stay on the pages of past forever!
A form of defence against slandering the concept of the Warsaw Uprising should be to scope to the parallel past of that period of the remaining peoples of the Visegrad Group and the peoples of the erstwhile Yugoslavia! For how much we share in history!
Sometimes reading in 1 of my beloved books on the subject of planet War II, “Doliniacs” by Marian Podgórecki, drowning in successive colorful images of many guerrilla battles with each subsequent chapter painted with the pen of the author of this unique publication, which is at the same time a evidence to the role, power and uniqueness of the Partisan Republic of Kampinosk and the Group of the Stołpek National Army commanded by Lt. Adolf Pilch, ps. “Mountain, Valley”, with each another turned by a card of this unique in my genre of book, I increasingly boldly spread my imagination trying to paint in my head the image of that Partisan National Republic of Kampinosk in all its uniqueness and power...
Yeah... frequently a good historical book can be a spiritual antidote to the idiotic posts of ignorant people appearing on the Internet... Though they usually stay in mind...
But on the another hand, frequently reading without memory in many books dealing with the uniqueness and power of the Partisan Republic of Kampinosk and Slovak national uprising I full realized the smallness and peculiarity of anonymous authors of those rude comments about the Warsaw insurgents, to whom if I wanted to answer powerfully I would gotta do nothing else only for days in front of the computer ...
But since the deficiency of any reaction to it would mean a silent acceptance on my part, I decided to respond to them all by writing a comprehensive article in which I could effectively assert the uniqueness of the Warsaw Uprising and the Republic of Kampinosk against the background of the ongoing Paris and Slovak uprisings, as well as the subsequent year of the Prague Uprising...
In the last fewer days in this strong decision, I would like to present in this comprehensive text of my authorship a number of arguments in favour of the decision to initiate the Warsaw Uprising... These are mainly my arguments based on a comparison of the Warsaw Uprising and the Kampinos Republic with the Slovak national uprising, The Paris uprising and the Prague uprising on the 1 hand, and the partisan Republic of Užická in Serbia and the guerrilla Republic of Bihaćka on the other... Of course, this is simply a set of very selective and circumstantial arguments, due to the fact that for the meticulous and complete presentation of all my arguments, there would surely be no place in this article...
Let us now talk to the arguments in question... They are as follows:
- I'm sorry. Many openly proclaim present on the net thesis that "the heroism of Poles was wasted, senseless, stupid, naive and unnecessary" that ,,Polish commanders making decisions about the outbreak were politically inept idiots".
In another words, we Poles were stupid to call The Warsaw Uprising, and the remainder of the peoples of Europe were smart, due to the fact that nothing like that always hit their heads. Yeah? Damn it!
And the guerrilla Republic of Užicka in Serbia? (July 28, 1941 – December 1, 1941)
A Paris Uprising? (August 19-25, 1944)
A Slovak national uprising? (August 29 to October 28, 1944)
A The uprising of the Czech people in May? (May 1, 1945, May 1, 1945)
A Prague Uprising? (May 5 to 9, 1945)
How we would have looked before the remainder of the peoples of Europe if all of us during planet War II had their independency spurs, not us!
In a situation erstwhile during planet War II, almost all Slavic nations had their armed independency spurs, the deficiency of their own large independency spurs, would constitute a serious political expression for Poland. In a situation where the Slovaks were able to usage their Slovak national uprising politically, and the Czechs inactive emphasize their opposition against the Nazi occupier based on the powerfully rooted image of the Prague Uprising in the consciousness of generations, the deficiency of their own large independency run would besides be an image for Poland from a political point of view...
- I'm sorry. To make the decision on the detonation more accurate The Warsaw Uprising let's put them on the timeline...
Before Paris was shaken by a number of street shootings between the insurgent patrols of the French opposition and the German military and the police, de facto the beginning of the Paris Uprising...
Before Lt. Col. Ján Golian issued all units of the Slovak Army an arranged signal to start the anti-German uprising in Slovakia with an order, "Start firing"...
the first struck the hr “W” ... The first was our Warsaw Uprising...
But that's not all... that's not all...
We should remember that 2 another large uprisings took place before the Warsaw Uprising in July 1944 at our east ends. The somewhat forgotten Vilnius Uprising (Operation “The Sharp Gate” lasted from 7 to 15 July 1944) and then the Lviv Uprising (The Lviv Uprising lasted from 22 to 27 July 1944). And what is peculiarly worthy of emphasis were both these large uprisings victorious... In both the National Army liberated thousands of Polish cities by defeating the hated occupier... They lasted respective days and both of these large Polish cities managed to prevent destruction... The civilian population was not murdered there... Unfortunately, although heroic insurgents from the Home Army liberated these large Polish cities, both of these large triumphs were topped by the sneaky mass arrest of officers and soldiers of the Home Army by Soviets....
But that's not all...
From July 24 to August 15, 1944, in the wide area As a consequence of joint military actions of the National Army, Peasants Battalions and the People's Army, a large area of land of nearly 1000 km2 was liberated from German occupation, later named the partisan Republic of Pińczowska... This is simply a subject of a river on which discussion would surely not be adequate space here...
Although these 3 large Polish armed independency spurs stay in the shadow of the sometimes mocked Warsaw Uprising... The winning Vilnius Uprising, the victorious Lviv Uprising and the large liberated area of the partisan Republic of Pińczowska are present eloquent arguments in the discussion on the meaning of the Warsaw Uprising!
- I'm sorry. In those terrible years of planet War II in the territory of the occupied Yugoslavia, thanks to the heroism of Yugoslav guerrillas, the partisan Republic of Užicka and the partisan Republic of Bihaćka erstwhile existed...
In the dark period of Nazi business in the lands of the erstwhile Second Republic thanks to the heroism of Polish guerrillas, the Turgielska Republic, the Iwonicka Republic, the Pińczowska Republic and yet functioning in the shadow of Warsaw Rzeczpospolita Kampinoska...
Therefore, we Polish past enthusiasts do not have the slightest reason to envy their guerrilla republics to the erstwhile Yugoslavia, due to the fact that almost all Polish land is woven with heroic actions of Polish guerrillas, sometimes absolutely unique in the full planet (!). And of all the battles always fought by the National Army, that's what The Warsaw Uprising was the largest conflict fought during planet War II by an underground organization with business troops... How not to be arrogant of this fact today...
- I'm sorry. All these Western Slavic armed independency spurs aimed at the German occupier and aggressor, as well as many extended partisan republics that erstwhile existed in the lands of erstwhile Yugoslavia and formerly the Second Republic of Poland, binds the invisible but inextricable thread, smokin' for centuries in the Slavic nations to bow its neck against the aggressor or life under any occupation. How different from each other, and at the same time how close to each other, were all these armed uprisings and guerrilla republics in Slavic times during planet War II, and above all... How beautiful in its short past and in its very being... How beautiful the hero of his guerrillas and soldiers...
- I'm sorry. Slavic land abounding in many beautiful centuries-old cities its past frequently dating back to the mediate Ages, during planet War II it besides abounded in many independent guerrilla republics... During the dark period of planet War II, Slavics could boast of vast partisan republics, which we will not find in any another side of the planet erstwhile going deeper into history! How not to dig into the subject of the armed anti-German independency spurs in Slavic region, and thus not to dig into the unique past of the Warsaw Uprising!...
- I'm sorry. At this point I would like to put a very bold and possibly controversial thesis that the Kampinoska Republic and the Pińczowska Republic... (which are inactive waiting for further technological papers by subsequent historians) are as crucial for our Polish past as the conflict of Olszynka Grochowska of 1831 or even the Krakow Uprising of 1846.
- I'm sorry. Our Polish land, through many guerrilla battles on it, seems to talk to the contemporary, sometimes unjustly ashamed of the past of its country, sometimes blinded by left-wing ideas of Poles. Through the erstwhile heroism of many conspirators, through the blood of young guerrillas who erstwhile sank the Polish land, Poland of our grandparents and great-grandfathers seems to shout out to us from the depths of centuries, so that we never forget the heroism of Polish guerrillas and insurgents!...
What large losses were made by the Germans to the "Kampinos" group in the conflict of Kistienne on 29 August 1944. (Previously another heroic guerrillas akin in number were able to commit on 5 August 1944 a German criminal expedition in the conflict of Skalbmierz in the partisan Republic of Pinczowska)
What a bravado of the Home Army was the night partisan excursions to Truskaw and Marians of 3/4 September 1944. How... You could number for hours...
- A drop digs a rock... For example, in the Slovak national uprising, the large German forces of the Slovaks fought to inflict losses on Germany, which contributed to the collapse of the full 3rd Reich. I profoundly respect the Slovaks for the losses they caused to Germany in the Slovak National Uprising... And the heroism of heroic insurgents will always stay recorded on the pages of history, whatever their nationality and whatever side of the world... And no substance how many haters on the net would mock them!
- I'm sorry. While respective tens of people from Slovakia fought in the Warsaw Uprising, more than 200 Polish volunteers fought in the Slovak national uprising! In addition, at least respective twelve defectors from the Hungarian army besides fought in the Warsaw Uprising in the Kampinos Group! besides worth reminding, at least a fewer Hungarian soldiers were killed by the Germans in 1944 for trafficking in arms with Polish guerrillas. They knew the danger and yet decided to aid Poles... After all, nobody forced all these Slovaks and Hungarians to participate in the Warsaw Uprising... Yet they all wanted it.
And erstwhile at least a fewer twelve defectors from the Hungarian army fought in the Warsaw Uprising in the Kampinos Group, more than 8 100 Hungarians besides fought in the Slovak national uprising!
Both Hungarians fighting in the Warsaw Uprising and Hungarians fighting in the Slovak national uprising wrote these glorious cards in the past of the Hungarian people...
- I'm sorry. There is simply a hypothesis that if the insurgents were successful, the situation of the insurgents in the remainder of the city would besides look different... surely it's a hypothesis worth a deeper consideration...
- I'm sorry. It would be a large injustice for the heroic Warsaw insurgents if we criticized the decision to detonate in a pulpit The Warsaw Uprising and writing technological papers and public texts condemning this step, focused exclusively on the Warsaw Uprising itself within the city of Warsaw, ignoring how many bravado successes in the fight against German forces during the Warsaw Uprising, operating from the Kampinos Forest area, the Partisan group of the National Army Group ,,,Kampinos’ and besides disregarding the fact that the Paris Uprising and the Slovak national uprising were almost parallel, and the subsequent year of Prague Uprising... It would not be an exaggeration to say that by sinking into the past of the Slovak national uprising or the Prague Uprising we can learn much at the same time and about the Warsaw Uprising...
- I'm sorry. Let us now compare the number of forces of the Warsaw Uprising and the Slovak national uprising:
Number of forces of the Warsaw Uprising:
Okay. 50,000 insurgents
The number of forces of the Slovak national uprising:
1 Czechoslovak Army in Slovakia
(47–60,000 soldiers)
Czechoslovak Resistance
(18 1000 guerrillas)
The above list shows that the National Army was able to present in the Warsaw Uprising a comparable number of soldiers all 1st Czechoslovak Army in Slovakia in the Slovak national uprising, which is besides an argument in favour of the Warsaw Uprising.
- I'm sorry. There is simply a crucial convergence of losses to German forces in battles fought by the "Kampinos" group and in battles fought by Slovak insurgents in 1944. For example, in the conflict of Telgárt of 6/7 September 1944, the Slovak insurgents were able to inflict a combined SS regiment with losses of about 436 killed, wounded and missing SS-mans, and, in turn, in the night-time guerrilla trips to Truskaw and Marianów of 3/4 September 1944, they succeeded in the AK Group troops "Kampinos to ask German auxiliary troops from the RONA SS Storm Brigade losses of about 190/350 killed. As can be seen from the above example, Warsaw insurgents from the Kampino Forest were able to inflict comparable losses on Germany as Slovak insurgents...
- I'm sorry. To this day, the arrogant Slovaks boast that their Slovak national uprising was 1 of the most crucial anti-fascist demonstrations in the past of planet War II... dł. (Slovenské národné povstana bolo 1 of the most noblest antifašičističkych vystúpení v celej histórie druhej svetova vojna). Why should we contemporary Poles not pride ourselves on our The Warsaw Uprising was the largest armed independency spur in the occupied countries of Europe?! Why should we not proudly emphasize that this was the largest conflict fought during planet War II by an underground organization with business troops?! possibly that's what many net haters would want, mindlessly insulting the heroic Warsaw insurgents, but... They're not coming!
- I'm sorry. To this day, the arrogant Serbs pride themselves on the fact that Chetnik troops together with the Ludovian Partisan troops of Yugoslavia liberated the territories of the future independent Uzicka republic... To this day, the Slovaks proudly emphasize the fact that (quoting literally) , the Slovak national uprising was an unprecedented act besides due to the fact that in a country without war traditions it was 1 of the fewer crucial demonstrations against abroad occupation" ... Why should we Poles not proudly emphasize the fact that the Warsaw Uprising at various intervals tied together 50,000 German soldiers in total?!
But there's something else important...
The fact that any modern German publicists called the "Insurgency" of the Wolf Shaniec assassination despite the fact that the number of its victims amounted to only 4 Wehrmacht officers, present is most likely the best proof that in modern Germans there is simply a longing for their own large armed anti-hitlerist rave that they never had...
All the more reason to be arrogant that the top armed independency spur in the occupied countries of Europe was our... He was Polish...
- I'm sorry. And so, over the next days of planet War II , in both the Western and confederate Slavic lands, large war heroes, arrogant representatives of their oppressed nations, entered the arena of history. The arrogant Serbs had their General Dragoljub Mihailović (Pseudonim Draža), The Slovaks had their General Ján Goliath (pseud. Ley, Gama), The Czechs of his general Františka Slunečko... Finally, we Poles had our distinguished leader, Major Adolf Pilch, “The Mountain”, “The Valley”, etc. However, for the remainder of these considerations it will be crucial to rise here the question of how the military talents of these individual commanders translated into the course of armed independency gains in individual countries...
- I'm sorry. And as for the parallel in the Paris Uprising... After all, the Paris Uprising could have ended as tragically as the Warsaw Uprising, and yet the French decided to initiate it... Just watch a full-length feature movie titled "Is Paris on fire?" from 1966 to see that Adolf Hitler's order to destruct Paris was as real as possible and could actually be executed... The Czechs besides decided to make their own long after the fall of the Warsaw Uprising The Prague uprising, even though it may have ended with the complete levelling of Prague...
As I mentioned earlier, these are the arguments I would like to usage to respond decisively to many haters defiling Warsaw insurgents on the Internet! With the elapse of time, I will add another to them, and my goal is that all young Pole can successfully assert the uniqueness of the Warsaw Uprising against the background of the ongoing Paris Uprising and the Slovak national uprising, as well as the subsequent year of the Prague Uprising...
As I mentioned above, this is simply a set of very selective and circumstantial arguments, but I will effort to systematically supplement it with further points over time greatly expanding this smaller text...
Both the subject of the Partisan Republic of Kampinos and the subject of the Slovak national uprising have long been highly fascinating to me...
The subject of the Slovak national uprising began to interest me in school years...
Another step I made in this field was to view the full eight-piece Czechoslovak war series, "Insurgent History" from 1984. Despite any elements of communist propaganda contained in it to this day it is 1 of my beloved war series...!
On the another hand, I have been very curious in the subject of the guerrilla Republic of Kampinos since reading a large historical comic book Kampinos ’44 by Sławomir Zajączkowski and Krzysztof Wyrzykowski.
Another step I took in this field was just to read the book “The Valley” written by Marian Podgórecny... As I went deeper and deeper into another sources, the subject began to pull me more and more...
Although I am highly curious in the full comprehensive past of planet War II, I think I would never be curious in the subjects of the Republic of Kampinoska, the Republic of Pinczowska and the Slovak national uprising, of all these issues, and my many books and collections of popular discipline articles on this subject would never be replaced with any another in the full world! Especially taking an honorary place on my shelves of books about the Republic of Kampinoska by Marian Podgórecki, I wouldn't trade for any other, from any corner of the earth, no substance how uncommon they were...
I have besides late devoted 2 of my long patriotic poems entitled “That joyful partisan laughter” and “He struck lightning at night.”
For each of these topics I have collected for respective years a rich library of all sources both printed and in electronic form...
I besides carry myself with the intention of developing this article into a fully-fledged book of historical publications or in a comprehensive full-fledged historical fresh that meets all the requirements of this genre and touches on its subject in 1944 throughout the Western and confederate Slavic... Time will show which of the 2 options I can implement...
Text published on 29 August 2024 to celebrate the eighty-year anniversary of the outbreak of the Slovak national uprising and to celebrate the eighty-year anniversary of the conflict of Kissienne.
While respective tens of people from Slovakia fought in the Warsaw Uprising, more than 200 Polish volunteers fought in the Slovak national uprising!
