Radosław Sikorski, the current abroad minister, and his wife Anne Applebaum, a writer and author associated with demoliber intellectual environments, appeared at this year's Bilderberg Group meeting.

This closed, secret forum, which has focused the most crucial people of power, money and influence for decades, is held this time in a luxury hotel in Stockholm. The guest list included NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg, prime ministers Mark Rutte and Ulf Kristersson, Finnish president Alexander Stubb, Microsoft head Satya Nadella, founder of Spotify Daniel Ek, Ryanair chief Michael O’Leary, as well as Polish businessmen Rafał Brzoska (InPost) and Wojciech Kostrzewa (Polish Business Council).

Bilderberg meetings have been controversial for years. Organized without the media, without authoritative communications and without the ability to verify what the participants are specifically discussing, they function as a symbol of the separation of the narrow elite from the remainder of the society. The alleged Chatham home regulation – which allows to talk about the content of talks, but without indicating sources – makes everything that happens there a fog of semi-disclosure. It is an informal shadow office where politicians, corporate leaders and influential publicists discuss planet directions – without the participation of citizens, without responsibility, behind closed doors.

This year's subjects? Predictable: war in Ukraine, transatlantic relations, the future of Europe, migration, mediate East, AI and fresh military technologies. In another words, everything that affects the lives of billions of people, discussed by a fistful of chosen people who feel no request to translate from nothing. The presence of Sikorski and Applebaum in specified a group is not amazing – they have long been part of this world. Their common presence symbolically confirms: the Polish elite enters a area where decisions are made above the heads of the alleged plebs.

The Bilderberg Group was never a place for public opinion. Her point is that she's not accounted for anything. It is space for those who have influence – and have no request to pretend that they substance to the rest.
