Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini powerfully criticized French president Emmanuel Macron for his proposal to send European troops to Ukraine. “Go distant if you want”, said the erstwhile head of government on Wednesday.
Matteo Salvini asked journalists to comment on Macron's proposal to send European troops to Ukraine, replied: " W Milan would say, "take the tram."
– Go distant if you want. Put on your helmet, vest, take your firearm and go to Ukraine – added right-wing League leader, whose speech aired on Wednesday by Italian media.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated: – I think Trump, in his style, who may sometimes seem rough and unusual, manages to do what others could not: sit at the table of Putin and Zelenski, which has not happened in years.
He expressed the opinion that the concepts of "European troops, the reinforcement of Europe and the common debt to buy missiles" and another akin concepts, as he said, "macronates" would not enter into force.
– Let us not disturb those who work for peace. Let the instigators and bombers stay silent, at least in August said Matteo Salvini.
– Our sons won't go to Ukraine, that's for sure He said.
The Deputy Prime Minister besides referred to the hypothesis of organising a tripartite gathering of the Presidents of the United States, Russia and Ukraine in Budapest; "at the home of the evil Orban, Sovereign Orban, ally of Salvini and Le Pen", he stressed, referring to the sarcasm of criticism against the Prime Minister of Hungary.
This is another clear message by Salvini about the president of France. In March of that year, the Italian ambassador to Paris was at an interview in the MFA there after the League leader called Macron a “crazy”.
