President Kaczyński Romanowski's case: it would be a complete criminal arrest

It will be a completely criminal arrest – so PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński commented on the message of consent by the Sejm to the provisional arrest of Marcin Romanowski on Friday. – The time will come, I am convinced that these people will gotta answer very hard. – he said.

On Friday, the Sejm waived immunity to the sovereign politician of Poland, associate of the PiS club Marcin Romanowski, and agreed to his arrest and temporary arrest – in connection with the National Prosecutor's Office's investigation into the Justice Fund.

By Friday's vote, the Chamber besides agreed to waive the immunity of Mr Mariusz Błaszczak (PiS), the head of the MON. The request was made by the typical of the operating commander of RSZ General Tomasz Piotrowski, who felt publically spoken by Błaszczak.

PiS president was asked about these votes on Friday by journalists in the Sejm. According to Kaczyński, "the vote on Minister Błaszczak, unfortunately, was crucial due to the fact that it came from a private accusation". – That's all that mattered due to the fact that those who applied to the Sejm do not service as assignees. – he added. In his opinion, Dariusz Barski inactive serves as a national prosecutor, not Dariusz Korneluk.

He noted that Romanowski could be arrested, the president of the Law and Justice Department replied that, in his opinion, “it would be a complete criminal arrest.” – The time will come – I am convinced – that these people will gotta answer very hard for it said Jarosław Kaczyński. In his opinion, all decisions made at the minute by the D.A. are illegal.

The National Prosecutor's Office wants to charge erstwhile Deputy Minister of Justice Marcin Romanowski with 11 counts in an investigation into fraud related to the Justice Fund.

In addition to the proposal concerning Romanowski, the prosecution besides asked the Sejm to waive the immunity of another PiS MP, besides b. Deputy Head of MS and politician of the Sovereign Poland Michał Wosi, to which the Sejm had already agreed in late June.

The prosecution's proceedings are multi-faceted; among another things, it is on the substance of the excess of powers and the failure of the Minister of Justice and MS officials to fulfil their duties, including the management, distribution and settlement of funds from the Justice Fund. In their assessment, the prosecutors, acting in order to accomplish their individual and property benefits, granted in a discretionary manner and any financial support to beneficiaries of schemes not linked to the objectives of the FS, which were detrimental to the public interest, the State Treasury and the private interest, thus limiting the availability of funds.

Marcin Romanowski from 2019 to 2023 was Deputy Minister of Justice and from 2018 besides a proxy for the then head of MS Zbigniew Ziobra for the Justice Fund. The motion to waive his immunity and to consent to detention and arrest in connection with irregularities surrounding the FS went to the Sejm on June 19. On 3 July, a parliamentary committee on rules of procedure, parliamentary matters and immunity granted to him.
