On the EU agreement with Mercosur, Polish farmers will lose, but German manufacture will gain

On TV, the Republic talked about farmers' protests held in Warsaw on 3 January 2025. The main request of the participants was to block the European Union from signing a trade agreement with the countries associated with MERCOSUR.

I believe that the key origin in speeding up the negotiations and finalising this agreement was the collapse in the sale of German cars in China. Last year BMW recorded a decrease in sales in the mediate State of 30% (link to origin below). As a result, this agreement takes on the character of the transaction "Argentinian beef for German cars". possibly that is why the details of the agreement have been classified.

In this situation, Polish farmers, who export a large part of their production to countries of Western Europe, will lose first of all. By joining the European Union and adapting our agriculture for years to stringent EU standards, we hoped that our products would have a privileged position in the interior market. Meanwhile, in the current situation Polish farmers feel simply cheated!
